It might be that the color had no texture to it. I find that the game doesn't like those very much. Its the lighting in game that changes from wall to floor, its more apparent with textureless walls and floors. In real life the
carpets don't match the wallpapers either, so don't worry about it

Alright in what respect Cherry? Once you've packaged it up with HomeCrafter, it doesn't matter one way or the other if you keep the wall .package file in-game. If you're concerned about a problem with the
TSR upload itself, you still have your wall .simsp2ack on your computer (wherever you store them).

I start with a simple crown, make it deep and sometimes add a strip or two of shaded pieces in different widths, one or two at the top in different widths and one at the bottom of the crown. I repeat that in a smaller height for the chairrail, and make a simple kickplate ...

Well I learn something the hard way, when I made the
wall mural for Illiana, with 57 walls, read the instructions, it will save you a lot of time.
This is how you save it, the time I mean:
Place all the .package/.sims2pack files in a single ZIP. Name the files with the title you want for each item. For the quickest process, also put the preview image for each of the items in the ZIP, ...
