You have somehow outhouse lawyered yourself into thinking that it's a good idea to act in defense of a third party. Neither myself, nor my law professors (who are practicing prosecutors,) nor my attorney agree with you. You don't read posts do you mljdeckard? Where did you find any hint of my saying that acting in defense of a third party is a good idea? I haven't stated a position on that. The situation would dictate though....

I can see how someone like Jscott can blow me off, but you? With the training you had as well as your military and police combat experience? Thanks for the kind words and when you ever start giving classes I will be the first one to sign up.

Beautiful bike. How is your headlight regulated? I know guys who always ride with their brights on or have their light aimed too high. They claim it doesn't matter because they ride in the daytime. Others have those flashing headlights. They supposedly do this for safety reasons, to be seen, but it is very obnoxious to drivers (and other riders) because it makes it harder to estimate the distance and speed of the oncoming bike. He may...

Using deadly force for self-defense is justified when a REASONABLE PERSON believes that they are in danger of serious bodily injury or death. Some states say deadly force is justified to prevent a violent felony. I'm not into body language or verbal warnings when I'm looking at using deadly force. The time for talking is over. I'm not in a movie directed by Richard Donner where they make the hero sound really cool when he's...

Metal doors and doorframes, use of shatter-resistant window treatments, as well as fusing the treatment to the frame. Think of your home in layers....have a good fence, preferably with some shrubs around it to make entry rather difficult. If you can, add a gate to the driveway, which will make entry to the property more difficult. Then solidify the internals of the home. Pocket doors separating the sleeping quarters from the living quarters,...

Quote: The MO of bad guys is to get you to the door (so they know where you are). Opening the door for them is not necessary. A simple kick will make that front door fly open. That's an improvement I'd recommend for any home owner. If your door is like most in America, it can be easily defeated with a swift kick. Upgrade to a steel core, and if you want to add an extra layer, get one of those metal mesh exterior doors to go outside...

New carry gun and method

Quote: Well guys I've moved up from a j-frame in appendix carry to a 4" 1911 at 3:30-4:00. Why not try the 1911 in appendix? I carried my Colt Defender there until I went All Glock-All The Time. My G19 or G26 rides in the AIWB postion quite comfortably.

I have one that I like a lot, recommended to me by my FMA instructor: the Olight M20. http://www.batteryjunction.com/premi...0-warrior.html you can find a couple of reviews in the non-firearm section of THR. It's a killer light for the dough; switchable from low to 90 to 250 (!) lumens. It has all the tacticool stuff hanging off it as well, FWIW. One of my new favorite handgun instructors (Ed Santos) had a hand in designing some of the...

I've had a couple situations like that, unexplainable road rage. I don't have the experience to tell you if or when you should have drawn (although I myself would have drawn if he approached me in an aggressive manner on a dead end street), but in my opinion, you did exactly the right thing.

Lag-Bolt a lockable steel electrical cabinet, 60" tall, 18" wide, 8" deep, to the studs of your walk-in closet wall. Put guns inside, and a "High Voltage" and a "230 Volts" sticker on the outside.
I unlock mine every night when I put my S&W 442 and speed-strips to bed in it, and leave it unlocked till I get them back out in the morning. There's also three shotguns, a 30-30 levergun, ...

The Galco Stow-n-Go is generally a pretty good holster. Holsters often seem a bit small because they are so tight when new. Many holsters require lots of break in time to really work properly. If that seems to be the case, work it over and over. If that's not the issue, switch holsters because this is an important issue.
As for the belt, yes, a good gun belt can make all of the difference. I...

This was a terrible crime that took place in my town less than 2 mi from where I lived at the time. I'm not sure how much situational awareness would have changed this situation. These kids were not armed or trained and were outnumbered. A gun, however, would have been an invaluable tool.
The whole case is enough to just make you sick. It's sad that this stuff happens everywhere and nobody is ...

At the lake with my dad fishing. a group of guys are on bikes and doing "tricks" very close to us (almost in the water). anyway long story short my dad asked them to move down a bit for safety reasons and also better fishing... the young men (about 8 of them or so) became confrontational... why would you need to shoot snakes out in the wild anyway? they don't exactly charge you. If I were carrying a small 38 snub, I would carry 38spl +P JHP made for short barrel revolvers.

Not for me, thanks. With a light mounted on a gun, everything you point the light at has the gun pointed at it too. Not cool to point guns at family members who make a noise while getting a midnight snack.
AFA "broadcasting your position", if a BG can shoot at your flashlight, you're not using a powerful enough light! IMO, it should be strong enough to blind him painfully and make him turn ...

Personally, there are very few situations where I would intervene (carrying or not) in the affairs of others who were not my immediate family or friends. It seems that in most cases, the best course of action is to be a good witness and notify the authorities ASAP. Anything else, and you're walking into a potentially very dangerous unknown situation. Add a gun into the mix, and it's ten times as ...

Interesting indoor range. It appears they can shoot 3 of the 4 walls.
As for the the training, it's usually always a mistake to take a technique that works at 5 feet or less and expect it to work at 7-10 yds or more.
For a brief moment, you can see the girls target has misses about the head of her target. In other shots, it looks like the way she holds and shoots the gun is a jam ...

This looks like an excellent lock, but how strong is your door? If you put this lock on a standard residential door, the lock will remain locked and in place but the door will shatter. Unless this installed in an industrial rated steel door in a steel frame that is solidly anchored to the building, you are wasting your money.
Basicly you are talking new construction. To upgrade to this ...

Luger is .355-.356. Makarov is .363-.365. I'm surprised that he managed to get the Makarov to chamber/fire before. If so, his chamber has to be badly out of spec.
