Quote: if you start with a tuned trigger with a very crisp and light break, you'll find it much harder to learn to properly "prep the trigger" for a quicker 2nd shot...more than likely you'll learn to just slap the trigger...like a lot of 1911 shooter do. The tuned trigger would be easier and faster to learn. I don't see that as a bad thing. As far as slapping the trigger, there's a guy named Robbie...

How does China "attack the US?" I haven't heard any air raid sirens lately. As a novice, I'm trying to find the best possible ammo for my Sig P220 Elite Stainless...From what I have read it is between the following: Winchester Ranger T in 230 Gr. (Law Enforcement Ammunition), Winchester Super-X Silver Tip 230 Gr, Remmington Golden Saber .230, or Speer Gold Dot in 230gr. This ammo will be used ONLY in defensive emergency situations. From what I ready 230 grain is best for stopping power, which is exactly what this...

I love revolvers but while messing around with dirt revolvers just had to much to go wrong. Even after cleaning my 1911 well I had a FTF after 4 rounds in my 1911 calling my group that were moving on while I checked one last spot for my deer, I think the issue was that I used the extractor to remove the main spring housing and in the process I changed the tension the night before... I love 1911's but my glocks are my trusted guns for now....

Quote: I thought Discovery was more even handed. That program is sensationalistic, over done. Yep, I agree. The program was sensationalistic and misleading in parts. The show said several times that the 8 man unit stood "alone" against the gangs, then they would show other police and members of the community organizing against the gangs. The 8 man "Gang Unit" was disbanded a short time back. One thing both...

How about a 442 or pm9 instead same guns just lighter versions? I had both you mentioned and liked them alot. So much that when lighter weight versions came out I had to get them. This was of no help but why the desire for the extra weight?

this can be different for LEO and legal CCW folks
a LEO will draw more when they might not yet have a target...entering a building for a search...and would leave the safety on when carrying a SAO gun. the same would be true during a high risk vehicle stop...it stays on until you have a reason to fire.

The belt you use is a big part of successful carry too. Gotta have a strong belt that's made for it. I personally prefer the 3 o'clock position rather than the 4-4:30 position. Just easier for me to reach it there. I carry a Compact 1911 (Officer's size).

UPS shipping regulations are very clear on how to ship handguns. And "ground" isn't allowed.
Shipping a frame or receiver is exactly the same as a complete gun.

Second, .22 for home defense isn't particularly wise. There's a reason centerfire ammunition is used in serious defensive and hunting calibers - and it's reliable ignition.
You're looking for a 'one size fits all' solution, based on price alone. That's rarely a recipe for success.
That said, if you're positively stuck on this idea and budget, go .22 revolver. At least then you'll ...

i prefer cleaning rods, brushes & jags over a Bore Snake.
i keep a Bore Snake in my range bag for quick cleans.
i use liquids, Hoppes #9 for cleaning and FP-10, Wilson Ultima-Lube, or Militec for lube

Mine are purple, but they're snap caps..
On a serious note, maybe they dip the bullets in some kind of JU JU juice and paint them purple to remind them not to shoot themselves or one of their buddies by mistake with one.
Sounds like some kind of method of madness, possibly a gang marker, if you will, if true.

Get a revolver. They are simple and reliable. Smith & Wesson M327 TRR8. This is a 357 magnum. Built for sporting and tactical. Also, get one for your significant other also. Nothing better then shooting with a friend.

I prefer the Sp-101. The one I carry has the 2.25 inch barrel and is DAO, yet that is how I roll. Top it off with a meprolight front night sight and you have a versatile tool.
