Yeah I used to have one of those. Nice pistols. They called them satin chrome IIRC. __________________ “It’s just a tool box. Five point seven millimeter? Obviously that is wrong. Someone on Fox News said it was a 9mm caliber.

10mm or 45ACP
Published (2009-11-06 18:45:00)
Quote: The .45ACP has been around for 100 years. It has been the standard US military pistol cartridge for a good portion of that time. That's a pretty good head start over the 10mm. The 10mm is a good cartridge. I like it, but it has too much recoil for most people, it creates a larger pistol grip than the 9mm and .40, and it is expensive and hard to get a hold of. The fact that the .45ACP has been around so long, is so much more...

Probably because of the amount of guns chambered in .45. plus the .40sw takes a lot of market away from the 10mm, plus its cheaper than both the 10mm and the .45

Quote: When I received the new P345, I was surprised at the compact size and light weight of the weapon. It is about the same size and bulk of a Commander-sized 1911, and at 29.4 ounces with an empty magazine, the Ruger weighs a bit less than a new Smith & Wesson Scandium lightweight 1911 that I had handy for comparison. http://www.gunblast.com/...

My weird old, and very much loved, CZ-52. This pistol has the aftermarket Wolff 16.5 lb recoil spring and the new machined firing pin (available from Makarov.com) and is a lot of fun to shoot. My recent purchase, a "Satin Nickel" finished CZ-75B in .40 S&W which is a wonderful handling tack driver easily on par with my beloved SIG 229!

It is a very rare gun and commands high high prices. These was designed and made in the 1970's in response to the W. German government call for a new side arm (following the Munich Olympics disaster) to replace the Walther P1. Walther came up with both this gun (for detectives) and the Walther P4 ( a shortened barrel, with decocker only, Walther P1). This is the time also that the...

I'm a lefty. None of my guns have ambi-anything. I've just accepted the fact that the majority of gun made are right handed. I learned to shoot a rifle right handed so that's not a problem....But that made me right eye dominant....So it's odd to watch me shoot a pistol....I shoot handguns left handed....I'm all messed up but I can shoot pretty well.... The reason you mention ...

I am not a Hi-Point basher, since I've paid six times as much for handguns that still malfunctioned and broke anyway, but there can be little question that a Sigma is going to be a better gun, at a higher price, of course.

Some of my favorite pistols are .32 ACP, but that's not what I carry. If that were all I had then that would be my choice. From my experience in shooting at solid objects and seeing the penetration, given a choice I would not go for less power than a .380. When I carry, it's usually a 9mm. Then there's the argument about shot placement and I am a pretty decent shot but I would rather have more ...

I'm a big fan of S&W 3rd gens, and have a serious jonesing to own both a 39xx pistol (not to mention a 69xx pistol). An FBI agent I met in September is still grandfathered to carry a 6906 and plans to retire before they force him to carry a Glock. That said, take a look at the Taurus PT-709. I'm personally about 99.9% sold on getting one, despite the fact that it's a Taurus. Most (not all) ...

1911 I had a aTaurus 1911, never a problem, just sold it to up grade to a Colt LW commander and couldn't afford to shoot both. I think a lot of negative barbs on the Taurus are by a lot of folks who ACTUALLY never even owned one, and just repeating slams they heard. Just like ANY maker u can find a lemon though!

9mm preferences: blazer brass vs. WWB? Practice ammo is finally starting to be readily available where I live again.
