I know some gun owners prefer to keep their gun ownership on the down low. That is a common reason people give for buying from private individuals rather than dealers. Some gun owners joke (?) about explaining their tragic boating accident when the government comes asking about their guns. So I've been wondering if that aspect of gun ownership might have a significant effect on the results of...

Quote: This poses a good "what if" question.. If you were an armed "onlooker" in this same situation, do you shoot the bg, or are you even allowed to shoot the bg??? Hope people are still reading the posts this far along, cause Im interested in hearing replies on this.. At law, you are given the ability to defend a third party, although that ...

Just wondering if any of you have been lucky enough to wear out a gun?

Any comments would be appreciated. The criteria used was a show where guns were commonplace if not wholly central to each show's story line. Also a show had to be rated in the top 15 of all shows at least 2 years during this time period. A few had to be left out due to max limitations.

I love it up there I have spent alot of time in Couer d'alene and Sandpoint lots of fun outoors activities to partake in there. If you started a shop there I would for sure stop buy and send some money your way. Im always in the need for new firearms and stuff.

So I was perusing through Wikipedia, and I came upon this. Now, the citation doesn't link to the cited article, so can anyone confirm or deny the validity of Bill Cosby being a CHP holder? I've always liked Bill Cosby, great comedian and a very level-headed guy IMO, rightly named America's Dad. If he's also a supporter of the RKBA, that would be truly awesome in my opinion.

I have a 1969 Romanian Trainer rifle. I've never been able to get it to feed rounds from the magazine properly. They always get "hung up" in the process of going from the mag to the bore. I thought it was the mag, but I just got a brand new one and am still having this problem. I think I have figured out the problem, but don't know what the solution will be. It appears that the firing ...

When I was 15, for one thanksgiving I went on a trip with my best friend's family to his grandfather's house. One afternoon his grandfather took us to an outdoor range to zero all his rifles to go hunting not to mention it'd be fun. Me and my friend at one lane with his dad while his grandfather was at the next with some other family members. My friend was looking through the scope ...

I wasn't thrilled with a recent experience at the same E. Rochester store. I have my permit, but seemed to me one of the two salesmen there at the time didn't know of what he spoke. Odd, as they come highly recommended. On the other hand, the Custom Shop in Walworth is just east on 441 from Penfield. Very friendly, knowledgeable.

For that matter, I think I've read parts of France have been closed and never cleared since WWI.

I always hear that for home defense, you should have a shotgun. I used to agree and have had one under my bed for awhile now. But after a recent scare, I now have to wonder. The SG is so clumsy to handle indoors, to draw from a concealed location, to manuever quickly, etc. But with a handgun, everything is so quick and easy, and using one hand is a realistic option. I know the power level ...

I received this email from NRA. It seems that the Obama camp and the DNC are not comfortable with the truth getting out re Obama's record on gun rights. http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Fe...d.aspx?id=4 192

Got home from church today and as we were walking into the house DW asked me to grab her pistol out of the car. I went back out grabbed it, walked into the house and handed it to her and she put it in her carry purse and went to fix lunch. So, my question is this, it never occured to me to clear the weapon before handing it to her because we both knew it was loaded and it was going to...

And we must remember that the military 5.56 round is not designed to kill. At its inception during the Viet Nam war, it was meant to maim and require more of the enemy to attend to the wounded than alow another of the enemy shooting back at our U.S. troops.

I was just wondering the origins of this. Is it just b/c HK is notorious for having less than desirable customer service, or is there actually a funny story behind this little saying??

So I went to pay my cable bill and saw a no gun sign, you know the no gun sign with a revolver and the red circle and a slash through it no words just the picture. I had my 1911 IWB snug up front like I usually carry it with my t-shirt untucked to cover things up. As I stood there I thought ok the most they can do is ask me to leave(rules for VA) but wait that sign clearly says no revolvers...

So my brother is now 22 he has been working for a multitude of security companies for a while. Well I go to mom and dads for dinner yesterday and he starts blabbing on and on about how he works for this company and he is now a plain clothes unit supervisor and tosses in all the cop lingo and he has court dates and how he "hooks bad guys up and taxes them."(local language I guess). Where ...

Jim Evitts (aka 44and45) passed away early Thursday morning. His passing was peaceful and mericful. My Dad was a true firearm enthusiast and I'll be reminded of him every time I pull the trigger on one of his old "irons" (some not so old) with reloads made by him at the range. It really was great to read the posts of support from the Forum members. Thank You All.
