I am not going to be using the Glock for as primary hunting gun, just carring for backup, up close and finishing.

Joeslomo, good one, so your saying is be one with the star. I found if you take the top one first, it tends to rotate counter clock wise. Next the one at one o clock. then eleven, it darn near stays still at this point and finish off the rest.

How did your season go
Published (2008-11-15 18:47:00)
The good news is we have just come into full shooting season here in Vegas. The summer matches are shortened affairs that start at 7am and end by 11am or so- since by noon it is well over 100 degrees. That being said, since I got back into shooting USPSA in August (after a 5 year hiatus), I have gotten classed in Production and L-10 (only "C" unfortunately). My match placements are putting me in solidly with the good...

Unflappable, Your wife would be good to go with an A1 length buttstock in CMP-EIC events and NRA Service Rifle. As stated, an adjustable length butt is not allowed at all by CMP and would take her out of Service Rifle and put her into Match Rifle category by NRA rules. Best regards, Swampy Garands forever

It is not all Glocks and raceguns. You can shoot IDPA in the Custom Defensive Pistol divison, which requires .45 ACP and only allows 8 in the magazine. Some say that is because Bill Wilson sells 1911s. And, you can shoot USPSA/IPSC in the Single Stack division, pretty much the same setup. Or you can get some 10 round extension magazines and enter in Limited-10 and be as competitive as your skill allows.

Glock 20 or 20C

I would say get the G20 over the G20c. The recoil on the G20 is not bad really, and I'm skeptical about how much those compensator slots will really help. Plus, if there's any chance you are going to use it in self defense, you don't want the G20c...after the first shot, in a darker area all that flash coming up from the top of the slide will kill your night vision as well as do a spectacular job of letting everyone know where...

Will this be used just for hunting, or for self-defense too?

We in the colder climates have shot our last match for the year. Actually it was last month. I was determined this year to move up a notch in USPSA, almost made it. I think one more classifier will do it. Starting last May my wife and I would go up to the range every Sunday and practice, I was shooting 200 rounds a week and she 100. By the end of the season I was getting some decent scores. ...

I'm an instructor for somewhat advanced (3-4 seasons) 4-H air rifle shooters, and am trying to find a couple of activities besides shooting targets for score, to fill in some nights of the program. We shoot 1-1/2 to 2 hours, one night a week, for about 3-1/2 months during the winter. We've shot playing cards sideways, shot with eyes closed, shot on black paper, name-your-own handicaps, no ...

I've been looking at getting a side arm for hunting and I think have finally narrowed it down to a glock 20 or 20 compensated (20C). For those that don't know this is the 10mm w/ 15 rounds capacity. I carry a side arm for 40% four legged animals and 60 % 2 legged. I've been carring a 1911 45ACP but found that they don't do much to a black bear ( friend put a "finishing" shot on a downed bear only...

Here is a question for you all. One of the small indoor rifle clubs in our league has lost their lease on an 8-10 position 50' indoor range. They do have land but has any of you seen the cheapest method of building a 50' indoor range? My opinion would be that one of those steel building that run ads in gun mags might be the cheapest way to go but thought that others may have seen it done and ...
