Sanguine drain
Published (2009-11-27 02:41:00)
Search for sanguine life gain, I did a list a few days ago I'm testing. Ajani Goldmane. Very potent. (+1/+1 counters and vigilance to your attackers with lifelink, then can block for more life). Tainted Sigil They fear this with Sanguine in play. Soul's Grace Cancel damage taken from a big creature or something similar, and then deal them back it. Righteousness Block with a lifelinker with +7/+7. Yes. Reverence isn't bad but...

Yeah, so far, I'm not in love with Fatestitcher. So far. I see how it could actually be pretty sick in the right circumstances, but I almost want to replace it with something like creature kill so that the deck can interact with decks like Boros game 1.

5CCC - Cruel Cascade Control
Published (2009-11-26 17:43:00)
Missing fetchlands because all ur cruel go on bottom of library from cascading. You need some way to shuffle your deck. Lacking removal, add DoJ? Here's my grixis version, might give you some ideas. http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/deck.asp?deck_id=476462 The deck is pretty good vs aggro with all the removal and UWx Control, Jund.

The Top Ten Underrated Cards of...
Published (2009-11-26 17:41:00)
The current format is dominated by Baneslayer Angel , Bloodbraid Elf , Vampire Nighthawk , and Garruk Wildspeaker . They are, in my opinion, both powerful and overrated cards. If a deck is of the corresponding color scheme, they will be played. Do they fit? On occasion, yes. However, a Baneslayer Angel in Boros Bushwhacker does not, and I see no purpose behind the addition apart from an alternate win-condition. That aside, the effect on the...

Did someone call for a banning? I haven't heard anything about it if someone did. I think Jund is beatable, but control is pretty bad right now. The reason is this- lack of decent hard counters and insane card draw. Flashfreeze, negate and Essence Scatter are great sideboard counterspells, but they can be completely useless against certain decks. Cancel is alright, but against other 3 drops ...

I like this deck, it is funny and really messes up 3 colored decks. Pithing needles will wreck this deck (cannot scepter or use planeswalkers). It forces him to waste demolishes on them and letting you have the colored mana you need to win (he cannot enchant every land you play). Hexmage will take care of ajani / espeth plus a good 2/1 for 2. Also against this, using fetches only when ...

I played against this (or something very similar) at Zendikar games day and it looked quite hard to play but once it started rolling it was very effective. Once the Ascension is activated Harrow and the tutor cards become pretty sick. The pilot's one complaint was that it's worst match-up is mono-red which is what I was playing. ISTR I won in 3 games - one game by sheer speed and one game by ...

I understand that the Canonist works great with the Font of Mythos, but it seems like the deck would be more synergetic if you focused more on one synergy at a time. While it would be funny as hell to make your opponent discard down from 9 at the end of each of his turns I'd drop both the Font of Mythos and the Canonist. That frees up 7 slots for more cards that play well with the Transmuter ...

Without storm, it's a no go. Sure you can nail into a pile of turns pretty quick, but you have to have a super finisher to actually do things during those turns. I think a Baneslayer or two would be decent, then work the average so that you can hit enough to go off for 2-3 turns, smash and gain back life, Ad nauseum again on 2nd to last turn, replay out and take more turns. Maybe an open the ...

Aggro decks dont use Time Warp. This deck is no exception. Elves enjoys good tempo and so bouncing doesnt add much value. This deck has quite a few inherent card advantage and so drawing is not a must. In fact, the best reason for the U splash is countermagic. But again, is it necessary? You dont need to counter their creatures coz urs are bigger and come out faster and even if you ...
