I personally don't like the Mogg Fanatic list. It just seems to have bad synergy with the rest of the deck. I mean when looking at the list you are almost banking on dropping a first turn Battlefield Forge or second turn Rugged Prairie so you can play a two drop the next turn. I just think it wouldn't work well. I haven't yet tested it but all in all I kind of don't cause it doesn't look like it works well with the...

Druidball deck
Published (2008-11-28 15:33:00)
@ CaptnFalcon - I think coat of arms quals as a win condition by itself. Archdruid is too slow for the deck, as it costs 5 mana and you need to play other spells after it for it to be effectivfe, unlike regal force. Also, the whole druid theme is unnecessary. It dilutes the deck from doing what it does best. Swarm. I think conventional elfball is just faster and more powerful. Add lords like Champion and Perfect, and mass token producers,...

I agree that mulldrifters definately have a place in this deck. I cut down to 3 + covenant of minds and have done okay but I'm still considering putting the 4th mulldrifter back for a finks. Esper charm should also be a 4-of. I like vendillion clique and will probably test 2 of them in place of finks or something as well.

Read some states results, vegenant weenies have performed better and better. However, I noticed that only the version which balance is shifted to kithkin works. In fact, it is true. Goldmeadow Stelwart is almost always better than Squire. Also, Spectral Posession by itself is just too great, nevermind its synergy with the hideaway land. I guess the kithkin built with red splash is good enough. A few Puncture Blast and Incinerate are almost as...

@Ramzes I think that dragon1299 is willing to sacrifice the early game rush for more power in the mid-game, and Mogg Fanatic is a much better mid-late game creature than Akrasan Squire. It's a personal choice, and one that I would not play either in the main deck. Now, I can understand why Stillmoon Cavalier would get pushed to the bench if you main deck Mogg Fanatic, since Mogg Fanatic and Stillmoon Cavalier are both All-Stars vs....

Suprizingly, I have not seen Grixis get much action in SoA. So, being different, I have decided to test play a Grixis deck. Also, do you think Grixis will take off when Nicol Bolas comes out? I think so. I am going to throw him in the deck (please don't critisize) Post if you think you have an accurate guess on Nicol Bolas's abilities. Here's the list, please tell me if you can help me fix it up or would like to tell me...

I haven't seen a thread for this here yet, my playgroup took a look at the flores shell for this same deck and decided to make some adjustments for the current meta. The deck performed well, took first place at fnm dropping only a game then the next day at the worlds gold qualifier had the same result only dropping a game...sounds pretty good right? Here's the list 4x murderous redcap 2x ...

All right, States/Provincials are finished, and we are going to see a flood of new information on Standard hitting the tournament scene. I, for one, am a little bored at some of the choices in Standard (although maybe I am simply don't have enough time to follow up on Shards/new Standard as much as I would like), and I don't really want to play a Lorwyn-based deck. Now that the metagame ...

I'm kinda new to magic and I just made this Bant deck, I've only played a few casual games with it and it's gone pretty good so far. I've yet to test it at FNM. hello everybody, i'm new to the forum. I want to focus your attention on the gilt-leaf arcdruid, in particular on his frist ability that looks like a great drawing engine. Then i noticed that his ability fits almost perfectly in an elfball deck. that's my frist deck list i came up with: // Lands 10 Forest 4 Yavimaya Coast 4 Flooded Grove // Creatures 4 Nettle ...

This a new deck that uses superstar Ajani Vengeant. It did quite well at states, with different variations top 8-ing. I've seen kithkin versions, lark-ramp versions, but this is the list I've been testing Main Deck Creatures(20) 4 Figure of Destiny 4 Akrasan Squire 4 Sigiled Paladin 4 Knight of Meadowgrain 4 Stillmoon Cavalier Other Spells(17) 4 Ajani Vegeant 4 Flame Javelin...

For all its access to control tools, Bant Control doesn't seem to have been posting any significant results (that I'm aware of. Raka, can you enlighten us?) this season. Faeries and QnT still rule the roost, and for the moment I don't see that changing. Aggro seems to be a much more viable option to me. Bant Fish ( Shorecrasher Mimic etc) looked pretty good, and Wizards has been posting a ...

Woolly Thoctar Sarkhan Vol These are but 2 of the cards that have people excited about a new Zoo deck in Std. Granted, we don't know most of the Shards of Alara cards yet, so start with LBC + 10th plus those cards. How would you build it? 4 Birds of Paradise no question, and 3-4 Llanowar Elves, would be my start.

Dubbed Quick'n'Toast by its creator Manuel Bucher, the deck is a fiove color control deck that combines many cards that are both powerful and synergistic. Guillame Wafo-Tapa was able to pilot this deck to Day 2 of Hollywood and barely missed the Top8. Heres the decklist that Guillame used: 1x Dreadship Reef 2x Fungal Reaches 1x Grove of the Burnwillows 2x Mystic Gate 4x Reflecting ...

I've been thinking, and true believer seems pretty good. Cyrptic command can't tap your dudes, cruel ultimatium can't touch you, and you can't be burned...yeah yeah i know terror nameless incinerate the list goes on and on, but your opponent HAS to deal with him BEFORE they can do anything else! Plus he's a 2/2 for ww which isn't bad, and can be larked... I really think this guy is underplayed....

Ever since Shards came out I've been wanting to do something with Cunning Lethemancer . In last week's "Building on a Budget", Jacob Van Lunen built a budget deck that makes use of Makeshift Mannequin and Cunning Lethemancer.
