1-2 Spring? (J-Mod)
Published (2009-11-27 23:11:00)
Well i would like the car to have a pretty nasty 2nd gear chirp. lol. Maybe even a lil 3rd gear chirp. haha. But hey thanks again guys ur help has been the most helpful. I truely appreciate it. I went to my local track which is a 1/8th mile drag and ran a 10.3 @ 69 mph at 90 degrees and my current trans was shot (now done, obliterated, dropped). Im hopping with the trans swapped and Jmodded and my new 3.73's to run a 9.8. Think its possible?

jmod downshift responsiveness...
Published (2009-11-28 17:22:00)
The Jmod was one of the best things I did to my bird. I got a chip from lonnie, and along with the highest jmod setting (and a little bit bigger holes in the seperator plate) that thing shifted so fast, I loved it. I had lonnie increase the shift firmness a little bit more from the tune, and it was great. Made my car go sideways 1 - 2 shift, and barked 2 - 3 with the original firestones When I got new tires though, it only barked 1 -2 =/ Do...

I'll split the difference with ya and guess 10.0 at about 73 mph.

ok so this brings on another question the transmission that was in there has a big 33 at the torque converter part a little 96 in the middle and a 44 w at the end the new one had a big 36 a little 95 and a 45 w at the driveshaft they both came out of a 96 thunderbird though thats why i thought itd be a direct swap what type of scanner OBD II wont work

No that doesn't fix it. If you use the old spring it will be better, but the new spring really is better. Most of it is in the valvebody. Alan

jmod downshift responsiveness...
Published (2009-11-28 12:00:00)
lowered4point6, The Jmod actually will help extend the life of the trans. It's not hard to do and it makes the tranny respond better upshifting and downshifting. Its a very worthwhile thing to do, not to mention inexpensive. It does not make the car harsh or uncomfortable in any way. If you plan on getting a tune in the future do the Jmod first so Lonnie can maximize the tune for you. If your not comfortable with doing the work feel free...

Either the electronics in the new transmission are bad or something was left unplugged.

the oring is only $2.70 or something like that from ford just buy a new pan gasket and oring and change them both while your down their. Probably wouldn't hurt to change some trans fluid and the internal filter while your at it either, your looking about about $28 in parts and two hours or so worth of time.....plus fluid.

Yea You're in the right area, leave the bottom 1-2 spring out and replace the top 1-2 spring with the one he sent you. You'll need snap ring plyers to remove the cover plate and access the 1-2 accumulator.

My first guess would be due to the earlier date, I think they made the Mercon V recommendation later.....but I'll let someone that is more in the know answer for sure.
