Hmmm Best part is Mazda actually bought the shares back, so now the company is worth more. Which is a good thing

My family got together tonight for Thanksgiving. The topic of Foriegn versus US came up. What I realized was that I did not communicate my thoughts very well verbally. The best thing for the US economy and well being for these two company's would be for the government to take over Ford and GM. The reason I say this is becuase of the reasons they have failed. They both have had CEO's and upper management that only look at the next...

The quality that goes into the production of these cars is top of the line. That is why they always received high marks from safety perspectives.

While it seems that Ford is benefiting from Volvo's emphasis on safety, I also don't see much that Volvo is getting from being owned by Ford. Ford is using the S80 platform for the Taurus and Taurus X (and maybe the Flex?). Volvo is getting the Euro Focus platform for the C30. Big deal. Volvo could have done that themselves. Ford should sell Volvo - back to the Swedes.
