This morning we were up over 1.5%, and yet we finished down, it is irrelevant how slightly in my humble opinion, especially considering how well the FTSE performed. When a volatile stock such as this doesn't rise when the FTSE does you need to start asking questions. As we all know what happens when the FTSE falls. Just my 2p RM

Too early to call trend in chart imo. Trading update very positive and sp has responsed accordingly up over 15% in four days. People are looking too short term at this. Are you not content with the last week? I'm confident this will reestablish itself above 50p this side of Christmas and broker target of 67p between now and next spring is perfectly feasible if housing market continues to stabilise. The upside after this depends on how...

I'm encouraged that it's nudging it's way towards 41p. I guess it could all be blown out of the water by bad data from the US then. No other tips for short-term gain - although YELL might go up again at some point with an RI and results next week - although it's like roulette. People on the YELL BB are convincing themselves it's set a base at 40-44p. It will go down as soon as the RI is announced though I'd have...

gothicform You need to take Government reports with a large dose of salt. You have created this imaginary world where we're all living in temporary accomodation - look around - there are new build estates all over the place! I don't see any homeless people? Where are they living now? Prices fell by 20% in 2008, did the Barker report predict this. Nope. Renting is very affordable - certainly compared with buying. Perhaps what we have...

50p was my top target and I was amazed when it overshot upwards. Why do you think it should be 60p? What sort of value does that put on the company. Dont forget there are three times as many shares as there were pre slump

I had a quick look and dismissed it. 48p, a 1 for 1 placing and 1 for 1 OO at 42p - exactly matching the TW model but TW discounted from 48p to 25p. I know the Yell investors are enthusiastic but I can't see the price holding anywhere near 42p. Are you shorting it popes?

I absolutely agree with this article and it's kind of what I've been saying for about 18 months now, only more eloquently put paaa.
The same old chestnut from me :
- Average Household Income, 36k ish,
3 X 36k = 108k + 50k deposit = £158k maximum - you can't get a two bed flat for that here, even if you could find the 50K deposit.
-Average three bed family home = 250k minimum (where I live)...

The MA's are constricting the price downward, if 40 wasn't such a strong support level we would've been through it about an hour ago. Not much support below it, but the longer it stays above it the safer it will become as the MA's sit above it. All depends on the US open this afternoon, if bad there is a real risk of a breakout. If good we may get above the MA's but I would doubt that.

Thanks Ryan for bringing this to our attention.
Some really useful stuff in here:
£500m of cash generation (in a bad year)!
19% land cost v average sale price (heading in the right direction)
Plenty of headroom against covanants
Treating landbank as an investment portfolio etc. etc.
Regarding the debate of TA v News v Fundamentals, I'm not sure we really want to delve into that one, ...

Well let's see, I am long terming BAE systems for a safer and smaller gain as they are watertight fundamentally, except for a bit of bad press. Also long Centrica as a long term safe bet and because they effectively stole venture for far less than it was worth. Recently put longs on TW and BDEV as they are sound in the long term and volatile enough to trade. Got into Lloyds as they fell for no ...

Not a lot i should think. Recently the share has been no where near that, there is no update due until early February, and house selling normally drops back up to Christmas. It could get towards 50 I should think though.
60p would be touching FTSE 100 status which TW does not deserve right now

I see no evidence of house price having fallen that much in my local area. However the market is totally stagnant. I think everyone is sitting tight in their existing property. The pick up in housing sold by builders could have been due to builders selling stock houses at bargain prices. The next 6-12 months will be telling.
What we need on here is some sales managers for builders to give us the...
