XP Backup File Size

Quote: I also changed it to "performance" mode just to be sure. You can change it back now that it's NTFS. That's just one of the quirks. If you don't, NTFS doesn't show up as an option in when you try to format. If you use "Safely Remove Hardware" to take the flash drive out, you can leave it in perf mode. __________________ AV/Antispy - Tech Tools - UBCD5 RC1 - Best of Data Storage -...

Avira AntiVir free supports Windows 64bit . Although Comodo's CIS includes an decent AV , AntiVir is better and works well with Comodo's Firewall and Defense+ . For free the combo is very good protection.

This is what I get. http://www.goodtimeshelties.com/desi/errorrmessage2.jpg It doesn't give me any details. This says Windows Live Mail on it but it is exactly the same as what I get with Outlook Express.

if you use pfsense, you wont need anything else http://www.pfsense.org/ that firewall is amazing, at par if not better than most professional corporate firewalls, but you can run it even on any old i386 machine.

Need a viewer for IMB files

I too hate Incredimail and have tried to talk my friend out of using it, but she likes the whole "cuteness" of it. Of course, this is the same person who didn't know better to back up her files. Enough said.

I'm pretty sure that reloading IncrediMail and then copying the file to the appropriate directory would allow access to the file. Honestly, IM is basically spyware. I would talk her out of using it. Gmail and even Hotmail are waaay better. They are also available on any PC without having to install malware on all of your friend's PCs.

And a Happy New Year to you as well, Ward! Linux comes with a big learning curve, especially for the windows user. But, Ubuntu is a good one to learn with. I find its like learning a new language, the young pick it up quick, while us old folk just need more time . Be patient , and use it everyday and it will get easier to use. IDE. You mean AHCI, not ACHI. Performance difference is negligible. Unless you need hot-swap or NCQ, stick with IDE. Quote: Also, is it correct that with Windows 7 you don't need to "F6" the drivers? Thanks for your input! No. Although it's not F6 anymore, there is a section for adding drivers during setup.

It could be Norton, try disabling it temporarily. If that doesn't work try emailing in Safe Mode with Networking. Run Malwarebytes also to be sure Norton hasn't missed something.
