I haven't got a lot of faith in these Go Swim videos. Here's an example of how to swim with straight arms. It's not the overwater recovery which gives the power, but the straight arm pull underwater. The Go Swim people show a bent arm underwater pull. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7oL8y8xRA4

This morning, walked to the pool again - getting good at this now. 500m Free 5 x 100m I/M (100m Drill, 100m Drill/Swim, 100m Swim) x 3 6 x 200m Free, first three hold times then increase, got down to a 2:38 4 x 100m (25m kick/50m dril.25m full) did fly, back, Brst and Free. 1 x 200m Free - fast - managed a 2:33 200m swim down and helped with the ropes. Total 3900m

Verity told me there was a FINA meeting scheduled for 15 January to determine suit situation for masters Could be a problem if Shrewsbury allow suits and then FINA ban them as far as decathlon points, records etc

MJC remember this is long course so you might want to add a second or so, alternatively wind up juicy lucy and swim at Cardiff. The times vary depending on how many people they expect. Times are from my recollection slower when the competition is in Australia/New Zealand as it's harder for the Europeans and Americans to get to.
