Now that I've swapped out the stock crappy fold-o-matic handles on mine for aftermarket one piece handles, there isn't much I dislike about it. I wish it had a pure manual bail instead of that big oversized bail trip on the reel stem. A machined digitally cut main gear would also be nice, but mine have held up well for
4 seasons with the cast aluminum gear. The retrieve ratio is just about ...

can of worms Be prepared for the my ZeeBaas is better than your VS rant...or vice versa. I guess it depends on what type of fishing you do. If you regularly get your reel soaked I'd say go for one. I used to fish a Penn 750SS until a month ago. I took the plunge for a VS 250 and it's the best $$$$ I ever spent. I should have bought one a long time ago. To each his own.
