Another thing you can do that won't look as funny and shouldn't shave enough weight to affect the action of the plug is to snip the middle treble off at the bottom of the hook shank, so its just the shank dangling from the swivel. Its a trick some guys use on the three hook Zara Spooks and it works on them.

They deserve some credit .. Unlike many companies who give you the run around they have great communication and want to remedy the situation quickly. Yes that's the way it should be but in most cases it is not. Hopefully i was able to point out an issue that will prevent it for happening to the next guy. They have done right by me thus far. i was looking through my gear today and i kept looking and i was thinking, i have about 12 rods, and 2/3 of them are the not so expensive but reliable reels and rods. the other 1/3 are the rods and reels with the big $$$ but have extra features that dont come in the wallmart rods and reels. What i am trying to say is i catch way more fish on my less expensive rods and reels, over the summer...

...with 2 hooks instead of 3? I'm replacing my rusted hooks and I just put 3 VMCs (4/0s) on this 3 oz bottle...9 hook-points are a bit much for catch & release fishing. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a proven 2-hook scheme (size & placement) that retains this plug's action...It's a little too cold up here now to experiment in the ocean. Thank you in advance. I will be giving away one UGLY popper. I recently donated materials and lots of TIME to Northern NJ Cub Scout Pack 145 Den 3.
