lookdown (they get big down here (@2 lbs) A very small specimen. (they are great fighters on ultralight, love tiny jigs, and are tasty) You can catch dozens in a short time (and sometimes a cast net will be full of them)

Penn 525Mag Rod Help
Published (2009-11-25 20:30:00)
I agree- that reel is built for long range bombing- those rods are made for light plugging. I think you'd be happier with a 6500 abu with a levelwind on those rods or conversely the 525Mag on a 10 or 11 foot stick.

One way to get IAR and an AR dog might be to try and find an old beater reel that uses only a dog AR, and install its brakeplate in your reel. AFAIK, Ming Yang produces a budget version of your reels named "VIVA", that have a brakeplate with an AR dog without IAR, and I think some of the Chinese made Shakespeare round baitcasters were/are made by M.Y. that have no IAR, only an AR dog that ...

I installed a set of their shorter hard sole version in a pair of their Vibram soled wading boots. I have mixed feelings. The grip is excellent, on par with their studded boots, and the studs have stayed in and worn well although I only used them 1/2 a dozen times at the end of the season. The main issue is stud pressure. The studs transmit pressure past the sole almost directly to the ...

Assuming it's 10' long like your factory model, the blank is either a GSB 120 1L or 1M if it's one piece, and 2L or 2M if two piece. The factory ratings are ridiculous--they rate the L blanks at 2-6 and the M blanks ay 4-12. The more real-world ratings are 3/4 to 3-1/2 on the L blanks, and 1.5 to 4-1/2 oz on the M.

From the AP Quote: Have you heard that the world is now cooling instead of warming? ItÂ’s not true, according to an analysis done by several independent statisticians for The Associated Press. The case that the Earth might be cooling partly stems from recent weather. ItÂ’s been a while since the super-hot years of 1998 and 2005. So is this a longer climate trend or ...

I won a Loki Seaslider (thanks again G!) last year in a giveaway so I feel I should offer a giveaway back to those that have offered me something to win around the holidays. Its not much, but I have this new 1.5oz Spro 45 swimmer to be mailed out to the first person to guess my 7 week old daughters middle name! I will let it go as long as it "has to" - Thanks for a great site Tim...

i add a bit of solder wrapped around the tail hook(s). the solder makes the lure stand up in the water when it is paused and helps it cast a bit better too. it is a good lure to use for schoolies.
