OTD prices on 450/510's...

the dealer I LIKE is $8600 (7999base unwilling to match the 7200 of the other dealer) out the door with tax/title/license. Another dealer said $7200otd without tax/title/license but that's in a different state so I'd still have to pay tax (about $600). Both would be 09's and modified to run properly, although the 09's dont have the same problem the 08's did. *sigh* i wish the good dealer would have come down.

Just to follow up… I did some more research and it turns out it is a real bitch to get any decal to stick to anything polyethylene. I will probably go ahead and ruin the stock plastic to affix it to this tank, as I don’t care much for the 1990’s XR beater look that this tank gives the Husky. Also it turns out what I did with hot water was fine and actually I probably should have used even hotter water to make the tank fit perfectly. I...

So, that dyno sheet shows a max output of 48hp @ around 7k rpm. Is this from an 08' SM510R? I would have expected to see well over 50hp with a PC and custom mapping. What other mods does it have? Also, I thought redline was around 10.5k. Looks like the engine gives up well before that. What are your impressions of the engine from stock to modded?

I hear ya - just a rare deal, and for $250 for that one extra gallon, its a tough call (for me anyway) Best of luck, I still need to figure out my mileage - only ridden mine once, for about 30 miles.

heh, they told me 9k retail and they could do 8k before OTD expenses, I thought that seemed high. That's for an 09 SM510R. One place had them for 6700retail, so not OTD. I'll try to get them down to that 7100 number, where was this, btw? I feel like its a good time to get deals on 09's

Go fer 13 if you want your top speed to be limited to 7mph and the ability to wheelie in neutral.Unless you race on very short tracks.

i would suggest looking into wheels for a 570, these should be a direct swap for you. It was right hand drive as well. Basically a larger version of your bike.

Need more info. Does it run fine except in the corners? Can you run it far enough that you put in nearly 1.9 US gallons without it running out of gas or stalling? Do you have the power-up kit installed? Has the dealer used iBeat or not? There are two common problems that it might be. Slipping fuel pump (do a search if you don't already know what I'm talking about) and bad ...

interesting read, but still want to know about the low speed compression basically, if I can get a 07 510R for ~3500, does it even matter that the 08+ had FI and the new frame/geometry? Or... is it worth paying extra (probably 1k+) to get an 08 450R.
