so my felpro kit came with gaskets that have silver on one side and black on other side. they are not marked. now using my common sense i would put the silver side towards the manifold (cast iron ones) because they hold alot of heat in them. so am I right. also the bolts, anyone know the size of them. i cant locate them (they were removed when I got the car. thanks

Pulling the front cover is the easiest way for removing the remainder HB ring..... However, it can be kind of labor intensive...... If you have the tools, you can use the drill, screw, pry method that has worked for some people..... If you do remove the timing cover, be sure to change the oil before start up....

Are you talking a 3.8 SC setup, or using an 3.8 n/a setup? Fraser

It is my understanding that 350 rwhp is the safe reliable limit for stock rods. You can get forged pistons at a reasonable price from XR7 Dave. Here is a thread talking about the perfect rotating assembly for you. http://www.sccoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10374 5

FYI, I replaced my ABS system with a non-abs Thunderbird brake booster and the Crown Vic master cylinder, pretty much same as the others. But I noticed that my brake pedal was going to the floor even after repeated brake bleeding. I looked at the push rod extension distance that is listed for the Thunderbird and it is approx. .240 and my was set at that distance. Well tonight I looked at ...

Lately my red brake light stays on sometimes. Brake fluid is fine, and no brake problems. Pump works just fine . This doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, the light stays lit until a restart. Any ideas? I forgot to mention that my antilock brakes don't work and that light is always on. I think that it is a wheel sensor, but haven't had time to track it down yet.

The lockup damper has been redesigned multiple times. The first design was complete trash and became obsolete around 1986. I do not have a picture of this as they are hard to find anymore. The second design is pictured here, it wasn't really bad they rarely break, but the thrust spacer that locks into the tabs on it are known to break those tabs off (thrust spacer picture not available it is a ...
