You haven't really specified the timeframes of involvement in your ECs so we can judge if something needs improvement/enhancement. Do you have any nonmedical community service or teaching experience? They'd be other areas you could add that could strengthen your application next cycle if you can manage it.

Bear in mind that you have the best MCAT possible to be paired with that GPA. So apply broadly to all the schools you'd like to attend and you'll be fine.

This is something med schools will heavily consider. You need to start getting some patient contact now, even if...

It will not hurt it, but will help it. Any intellectually-involved research (even sociology research) is a big plus on your application, and need not even be science-related, let alone medically related.

To be honest, if you have the opportunity to study medicine in India, I would take it. If you were an American citizen, your chances with your GPA would be quite low (we'd be suggesting the an SMP or Caribbean with a slight possibility at DO and really no chance at MD). As an international student, you don't even get the advantages of being in-state, etc. As a result, your chance at a US school ...

Of those applying through AMCAS for the last three year with your stats, 85.4% received an acceptance. This presumes optimal extracurriculars, PS, LORs, and interview skills. Source is https://www.aamc.org/data/facts/appl...pt-raceeth. htm

It will hurt your chances some....how much is hard to say.
I did most of mine late (right before applying) but I already had enough from another endeavor.
I would go somewhere like an ER and volunteer enough to have 100+hrs over the next 6 months before you apply and shadow 2-3 docs over 50+hrs.
This is almost just as huge as your MCAT score....seriously.
Start volunteering ...

Your GPA is fine...I would not work about postbac or SMP. Maybe take a few classes to keep you mentally stimulated if you wanted with the yr off or work on a Masters that takes a yr (best idea!)
The MCAT is what you have to fix....you need that 31-32 to feel safe.
Continue with the volunteering and as many ECs activities as you can.
Have you considered DO schools? You would ...

I think you have still to get where you need to get by Summer 2011...
Work on getting the GPA to at least a 3.5+...preferably 3.6+
MCAT you need a 33/34 with that 3.46....
Most important think you need to do is get clinical experience through work or volunteering.....you also need to boost other ECs like shadowing, other volunteering, etc.
The research will help though but ...

I'd go ahead and send it in. You need it as a backup. Also, as a secondary benefit, it will make your family happy that you did it.
Otherwise, what if you don't get into your first choice and end up reapplying? Would you rather go nowhere than your distant last choice? Would you kick yourself that you hadn't at least tried?

The verbal of 7 is going to be a problem. Is it a fluke? Were you doing better on practice tests?
Look at the school selection spreadsheet stickied at the top of the forum. Move right to bottom 10th percentile for Verbal. Look at all the schools where 7 or less is listed. See if any of them are open to out of staters. Are any in your state? You'll see that a lot are meant for special ...

A 3.9 GPA is excellent. Taking the MCAT early sounds like an excellent way to tank your app. Give it the time it deserves (10 or so weeks of studying) and do well. I see no reason to take it early. MD schools take the MCAT very, very seriously. It looks way better to nail the test on your first go round than to bomb it and have to retake.

I think a 3.3 might hurt you when shooting for difficult-to-get-in schools like Stanford and UCSF.
Try this handy program to see what it takes to get in to specific schools:

I also want to point out that I am a biomedical engineering major, which is why my GPA is a little lower than it could have been. Would medical schools care about my major?
