I also had the same question about AA. I am just going to go for it. I really do share a passion for the under-served and want to come back to my under-served county and try to help out. I'm just hoping that being "all-out" for the mission statement will make them see that no matter my color, they should let me in.

As far as BESS requirements go, I have taken two psych classes, but they are listed as HRS, honors classes, not PSY. They were taught by psych professors, just offered through the honors program. Also, I'm planning on taking anthro next semester (first sem. senior year) but applying this cycle. I'm okay, right??

Just to clarify - there are up to three essays on the HMS application:
1) If you're interested in HST
2) If you took time off after college
3) If you're interested in an MD/MBA, MD/MPP, etc.

It really is about getting to know you, so don't worry about scripting answers. Just show them who you are. They care a lot about your personality, so memorizing answers probably won't help them out much.
