I know there's Medical journalism. You can interview patients, doctors, and other healthcare workers to publish articles in health journals or even television reporting/broadcasting...I've heard of a few medical schools that offer this track, but I can't remember off the top. I'm not completely sure if there's a medical school track though. I do know that such programs exist.

I had a 2.6 gpa in high school, I have a 4.0 in college. I think the key is finding what you are interested in...it is infinitely easier focusing when you are doing something you enjoy.

Patient care experience is great wherever you can get it, and you're right that it's much easier to do direct patient care in the developing world where there's more need and less help to give it. The EC you're doing in South America sounds great, and I'd encourage you to keep doing that.
However, you will need to do some shadowing in the US to get to know the system here from a physician's ...

Talking about technologically savvy things... google wave is out!!!
My explorer homepage is gmail. and I use it for two (or three things)
gmail->facebook, and iapply (which I no longer use since I am on HOLD)
and firefox is my main browser.
I tried chrome once but I hated that you couldn't open new windows and could only open new tabs (dont know if this function has been updated yet)

It was a product of WWII and the post-war era economy, and is now putting enormous pressure on the system and the people using it. I understand the argument that insurance can't work without pools, and large companies do provide a...

I never understood the point of this unless it is necessary.
Use a notebook. Then transfer the notes to OneNote if you'd like as it will probably help in studying the material while you do this.
Up to you though. Try it for a week?
