I am pretty sure it's more than enough. But how did you get to do surgical residency without surgical intership? Or did you mean 10 months of surgical internship?

Does anybody that is interviewing, current residents, or nuclear physiciand that are interested in nuclear medicine have any comments on the future of the field, and how it will be affected by healthcare reform? It seems like the indications for nuclear studies wont change, but if radiologists reimbursements get cut, they might take away more of the nuclear medicine pie. Currently there are somewhere around 2700 nuclear physicians in the US....

Future of nuclear medicine? SDN Members don't see this ad. I'm just cuirous if someone could weigh in and give an opinion on the future of nuclear medicine in regard to job stability and potential growth. With PET/CT studies expected to double by 2016 and a relatively constant supply...

If you want only review about nuclear med, i recommend Nuclear Medicine Board Review by Richard Goldfarb. But I highly recommend Essentials of Nuclear Medicine Imaging , i think this book is very easy to read for people that speak other language than english and most complete review in nuclear medicine. as a medical student, i probly can't answer this question as well as you'd like, but having rotated through both nuc meds and rads, I can offer you my own perspective. Radiologists don't use math, and are only quantitative when it comes to measuring the dimensions of their findings on the diagnostic studies they are readings. But, every radiology resident must take and pass a physics course...
