This is one thread that is both amazing and sad. In a strange way this thread has made me realize something that I had not thought about before. These high debt loads of the current students may actually provide some level of job security for attending physicians like myself who have no loan debt. What I see is that people in my situation will be able to afford to work for lower pay than the new grads with big debts. For instance as physician...

"Wal-Mart is not responsible for the medical treatment provided in this clinic." I couldn't think of a more horrifying job than doing primary care in EFFIN Walmart. Imagine being one of those PA's or NP's! Here's Big Bertha checking out the meat before waddling over to the weigh station for her cholesterol levels => http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=6320

Again it all come to individual not a group as a whole so it will depend person to person and program to program. Do you have clinical director for each rotation and not sure how he/she control educational quality control and what kind of leverage your school has when you are not doing your rotations at your home base?

Got it couple weeks ago after 7.5 months. I sent in the wrong L4 form and had my internship do instead of my residency program. If it's been awhile, just followup with the program to make sure they send it in. Ask for copies for your record. Send in the full payment together with the application.

Absolutely Not!!! .....as I've said before, if offered a free ride I still wouldn't go back and do medicine over again. Give me a bible and let me put my hand on it and I will swear this is so. It is not just the massive debt, it is the lost time that you can never get back that kills me more.

Dude, you found yourself a keeper and now you want to bail? WTF? She has stuck with you through the misery. That takes a special woman. You owe it to her and the vow you took to not be seeking advice on an anonymous forum to dissuage you of your guilt of stupidity and actually talk to her.
GO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SPOUSE.

It depends. Are you trying to practice in Shelby, North Carolina? If so, you're right, it probably doesn't matter one bit. Are you hoping to do something competitive (ophtho, rads, etc) in San Francisco? Then residency/fellowship prestige matter more.

so as a med student I was doing an anesthesia rotation. Normally, the surgeons clip the drape to the IV pole. seeing that the pole was too far away from the table, i grabbed it and moved it forward. That was a mistake. The surgeon then yelled at at me for a solid 5 minutes about how I need to let him run the case because he is the surgeon, and he only clips the drape to one of the poles and lets ...

Modafinil is pretty good combined with methylphenidate. I didn't quite get the kick out of donepezil. Combine with coffee in modest amounts, to bridge the periods when the methylphenidate starts to wear off.
