bugaboo car seat

Oh, & it's very boring too! I'm disappointed on several accounts. If I were to get a carseat for my cammy, I would definitely prefer a cabriofix or viaggio, mainly cos they have isofix compatible bases (the euro viaggio base has a support leg, right?) _________________ Sarina my boys: DH, Torin (19/12/2005), Seth (05/01/2008) my prams: bugaboo cameleon, mac techno xt wanting: MBUD, & a cabriofix again...

I dont mind it but if youre going to get an illegal one may as well go with a cabriofix, I think they are nicer, nicer patterns etc plus I have no idea what the safety of the bugaboo one would be it wouldnt have been tested against the other carseats yet I dont think. can you get pink? hehe

The brand was Takata (so yes Japanese) - reminds me of Sakata crackers LOL!! The seat has now been around for awhile but no test data on the Bugaboo variant of it. I wouldn't choose it myself - it doesn't have a base (which helps prevent incorrect installation), doesn't have a foot and doesn't have isofix. AND you still need to have adaptors on the Bugaboo pram to put it on so its not any easier than the other capsules....

EU seats in AU vehicles - Who...

I was in a car accident and TBH - the policemen didn't even bat an eyelid at our carseats or if they were Aus Approved or not. I can gurantee the policeman probably wouldn't even know if they were installed correctly. They didn't even note it in the official report that they were even in the car (the carseats or the kids) My FIL is a police officer who is quite high up in his station and he blantantly said they rarely check...

Saring - in the UK Which tests (like our Choice but are done every year), the 3pt harness of the MC Cabrio (with isofix base) & City (using just a seatbelt - no base) perform better then the 5pt harness of the Viaggio (using the EU seatbelt base). You can get a temporary membership and veiw the results at www.which.co.uk _________________ Prams I own: Mura 4- Green Slice Quinny Zapp x 2 - Steel Blue & Rocket Robots P&T...

I am sure you don't *need* to use it.. but safety wise I would think that you should use it _________________ ** Maxi Cosi and Base ** 2007 Plum Dot MBU ** Blue Bee **Watch this space

So I've contacted my car insurer who have confirmed that they will cover us for the use of an EU seat in our vehicle. I just want to find out from the 'horses mouth' so to speak what the consequences are of actually being caught with an EU seat. Who enforces the AU standards? How do they enforce the AU standards? And who can I call/contact to speak with directly about it. Police? RTA? Thanks in advance _________________

I have been pulled up and the police women commented on my nice carseat! Nothing was said about it being a MC - although I was not in an accident I was just being breath tested but they did check the car over.

I was told today at a BS that even though this seat has the tether strap....you don't need to use it. Is this right??? I am clueless when it comes to carseats but have ordered a Babylove Eziswitch for DD2 and am now looking at the Infa Trek for DD1. Does anyone know.....I don't understand why it would be there if it should not be used. Thanks _________________ DS ...

Hi, what does anyone know about this seat. It "appears" to be identical to the Trek 8, just doesn't have extra cushy head support insert or hood. I've yet to see a Trek 8 IRL, but this was 25% off at K-mart, only 2 in stock, so I put it on layby & came home to ask ASAP. I can always cancel layby (will just loose $3 layby deposit) These are seats available on ebay so you see what ...

Just a word for the wise; KMart have 25% off all their car seats and booster seats right now. The BabyLove Prelude comes down to $134 and they have a couple of SNS Galaxy's for $140 on Clearance - so 25% further off that would be $105. _________________
