I completely agree with you. If the Field family didn't care enough to hang onto the property, why should the rest of us care what it is called? The current owners are well within their rights to call it whatever the hell they want.

Huh. You have to wonder whether this railroad was merely proposed, not built. You'll notice the dashed-line symbols are different from those used for rail lines known to be in existence. I don't see a legend on the map, though.

anyplace with rail lines going through it - lots of stuff along those lines have been abandoned-in-place, including entire bridges.
