Light rather than X-Rays
Published (2009-11-21 14:48:00)
You can also use light of lower frequencies than visible, rather than higher. I've heard of a prospective cancer treatment that uses an infrared laser to activate chemotherapy agents, so as to localize them precisely to where the tumor is: They can work through something like 5-10 cm of tissue and still be strong enough to activate the chemo, without doing significant harm to the intervening tissue.

Are microwaves dangerous?
Published (2009-11-21 23:58:00)
That's my understanding as well. But there is no disputing what I claimed: radio frequency radiation can cause DNA damage and exposure to low frequency radiation has been linked to cancer via cell phones. Everything posted so far has simply said the same thing using many more words.

All this is assuming you have access to space to put a clothesline. Many people do not and have no other option than the gas or electric dryer. Using a clothes line takes more time, too. It requires each piece to be hung individually and be carried around. The money and gas/electricity saved comes at a high cost in time.

Quote: I just checked the "System" tab and it tells me I have a Pentium 111 Processor at 864 MHz and 128 mb of RAM. You have a pentium 3 with 128 megs of RAM. Thats pretty old but still usable. Id consider moving up to 512 or 1 gig of ram. You can find out what ram fits you machine by visiting crucial.com and putting in the model number. Most likely you'll need PC133 SDRAM. 2 512 modules will run you $100 or so. Two 256...

Parrots are not domestic animals. At best they're semi-domestic - they, too, retain their wild behaviors just as corvids do. One of the problems pet parrots have is that many humans do not understand that and thus do not understand that some "problem behaviors" can not be trained out of them.

I watch a lot of old movies from Netflix; many old foreign movies that are rarely available anywhere except DVD.
Occasionally I get one that cannot be view anywhere in my household except on the computer. There are some older European disks that the computer can read and my DVD player cannot.

Go to Craigslist. These machines are dominant on there, and they've done nothing but hold up clothes/laundry, so you can get one like new and hang your laundry on it.
I would recommend free weights. The best things those machines have to offer are great ads and a bunch of models who wouldn't be caught dead building their lean body on one of those machines... unless they were handed a fat ...

Just to shake things up, wikipedia says:
"In countries prone to earthquakes, such as Japan, most switches are positioned sideways to prevent the switch from inadvertently being turned on or off by falling objects" There is no citation though.

Here's a video showing the whole ceremony .
It's part of the flag lowering ceremony. Yes, it is a certain bit of "I-kicked him in the goolies like this" in the ceremony and it's on purpose. The whole ceremony is now a big nightly event that takes the animosity between two enemies and puts them into a non-violent display of rage and anger. There are cheering crowds on each side.
However, ...

Why? The spinning rotor is still providing lift, albeit less as it slows down. It won't fall like a rock since lift doesn't disappear as soon as you lose power.

I have wondered this forever, especially seeing boys doing stunts and suddenly dropping hard onto that bar. The tears in their eyes makes it seem like it's totally backwards.

Look up "scrapyards" in your local phone book. They have set rates they give you per pound of whatever metal you bring in and what they buy does indeed get melted down-- this is usually much more energy efficient than processing new raw materials and, in fact, with many metals much more recycled material gets used than new.
These places have plenty of legit customers-- demolition contractors...

To some extent, neither. Total distance=calories. Go as far as you can in the time you have.
You won't be able to go at the same intensity every day, you'll need some easier days otherwise the fatigue builds up until you break down.

WAG: The cost and other issues (weight, comfort, visibility, etc) associated with making a faceplate capable of stopping a bullet are not worth it considering the number of people who get shot in the face is probably on the low side.
Edit I need to learn to read the WHOLE post before I reply. I'm not sure, I'd guess it would still be too expensive and bulky (helmets already weight something ...

Can't say for Southern California, but everyone I know in Arizona has dryers in their homes or otherwise uses the laundromat. Wouldn't clothes dried in the sun get really stiff and unpleasant to wear?
