Re: Curses, discards and going up a level The problem is that in MtG rules, the use of stack is defined. In Munchkin rules, there is no mention of whether to use a stack (Last In, First Out) or the "standard" method (First In, First Out), which players are assumed to assume to be used. And when people come from MtG, it's easy to assume the other way round. But yeah, it has been officially stated that Munchkin uses FIFO...

Re: Curses, discards and going up a level I will state, for now and all time, that a "stack" mechanism is not a natural mechanism for how games are played and how many, many aspects of events occur in life. This means that to use a stack mechanism requires rules to define how the stack works, and therefore the FIFO system should always be assumed if some other system isn't defined in the rules of a game. However, given...

Re: How many Munchkin sets do you play with on average? What's the most? I'm happy to say that I got lucky today. I went to the Game Preserve I couldn't find on Monday, and scored Space 2. I knew that Comic Carnival East had Space 1. We drove from the north side to the east side. We get there, and they are having a New Year's Eve Eve sale, every single thing in the store 25% off. I grabbed Impossible, Space 1, and Cthulhu...

Re: Steal a level - treasure card
"Special" cards are defined on the last page of the rules. They may be played from your hand at any time, unless there is a restriction on the card itself. They are not items and may not be played to the table for later use.

He certainly can't ; there's a difference in discarding and selling. He can't combine them, so I agree with you. very wrong indeed.
EDIT: And happy new year to you as well! ^^

Re: Super Munchkin-- The Big Boss and Exotics
It means monster enhancers. You can still play one shot items, and your equipment counts.

Re: Helping during combat
If a player is not able to defeat the monster(s) he may ask for assistance from another player. If after another player agrees to join the battle and together they cannot defeat the monster(s) then they must both attempt to Run Away. Each player must roll once for every monster in play.
In other word, ...

Re: Crunchy Cultists
You're reading too much into it.
If you're in combat and things go badly, so that you have to Run Away, just throw some Crunchy Cultists at the monsters so you can automatically escape.
That's all it's for. It has nothing to do with "does not pursue" and even less to do with "does not attack" - it's ...

Re: Best Class
It really depends on who you are playing with.
If its just a friendly game. I kinda like the Warrior or the wizard.
If its cuthroat and out for blood, give me the Thief. ;)

What you NEED is just a basic set, of any Munchkin set: Fantasy, Star, Cthulhu, Super.... most of them also have expansions, that you may get if you want, to add more twists to the game, but they aren't necessary

For Christmas, I received Cthulhu Munchkin and the Unspeakable Vault expansion. In the 4 days since, I've become hooked on Munchkin; my little brother got Star Munchkin, and we've been playing twice or more every day. However, between us and my older brother, the same three people can become boring. Attempts to ...

Tergiversation Question
I read the previous entry about Tergiversation but have some questions.
The rules make no mention of a player who is not the current player being able to "offer help." Instead the rules state that a player can ask another player to help and if that player refuses then the player can ask another player ...

I'm also a bit confused even after reading some forum messages, but as far as I've understood, Wishing Ring can be used to cancel a curse that was just applied (most curses work like that — they are instantly discarded).
I have understood the answer to this is "No.", but I'll ask it anyway: Can it also be used to remove an existing curse (or rather the penalty of a curse), such as Change ...

resurrection question
hello everyone. I'm a new munchkin player and have a question regarding the cleric's resurrection ability.
Let's say I enter combat and have a player help me kill the monster. The treasure card(s) are then taken "face up" from the deck, correct?
If I was a cleric and wanted to resurrect the top card ...
