There is already a backup account. It's your verifyed email address. So locking an account to an IP should just use the verifyed email address.

Pretty far outside of the realm of relevant. Some keyboards have support for this. For instance, some of the function keys on Apple keyboards control things like music (or some other media playing), sound, and brightness.

I agree. Two nights ago I was downloading NFS: Shift for a mate that uses my computer but that meant I couldn't play any games until yesterday as I have a very fluctuating broadband speed and it took ages. Pretty annoying and definately not necessary surely?

I was thinking of bringing up this suggestion for some time. I know you can gift most games away from your account if you have more than one copy but I believe you should be able to remove a game from your list and gift it to someone

That extra bracket is probably just a rendering problem with Internet Explorer (basically what Steam uses to render pages). It displays properly in Firefox (v3.5.5). The :: would just be a typo.

It would be convenient, perhaps, but this is a bit outside the scope of Steam. The Steam Overlay is a shortcut to Steam services and Friends; A music control is leaving that domain and entering further into the realm of bloatware. The best option would be to get a keyboard with playback controls, I feel.

Yeah, I now have essentially 4 different categories that I can put my Steam Friends in to and I would really appreciate this before it gets too big. C'mon people! you'd think that this would be the most wanted feature that could easily be done, ever. It's not like we're asking them to rewrite their netcode. I'm sure they would do it if we got enough people asking.

Bump because I've wanted this forever. Not all of the things I download are time sensitive. I can wait awhile until I watch the next HD trailer from apple. I want to let it sit in the background downloading at like 30kb/s while play CSS. Less ping and packet loss issues. Anyway, lets get Valve on the bandwagon. I'm Kuji and I approve this message.

Another solution I just thought of that can work as another password factor on the cheap...it is not nearly as secure as a token factor device. Simply offer to generate a personal cert similar to a personal SSL cert. The cert then must be used to authenticate. Similar to DRM used in music, etc. To login from another machine you then must add the machine as an authorized computer to the steam ...

or just have it pop up on your steam window if you were still logged on to the steam account. Kind of like a 'is this you?' sort of question. unless you mean steam logs your IP and if some hacker with another IP get's a hold of it and then it notifies you that someone else has logged on then that's something kind of different. It may be a good idea, but I don't know if steam would want to...

What hell you are whining? Fools buy alienware PCs, dont whine about that. Valve made deal with Alienware that every alienware from that day have pre-installed Steam, so Valve gets more users to Steam.

20 bucks is fine... no? 15 bucks would be better, but i think 20 is alright there are many other games that are not as good as their price says though, but TF2 isn't one of them.
