I got a replacement 89 tranny with "Low miles" on it on the way, thanks 2manytoyz! I also ordered yet another fine Mookeeh product, a brande spanking new cnc machined short throw shifter! Although it is not a rebuilt tranny or a new one, I am still open to one or a "Successful" Supra Tranny set up. Perhaps a T-56 but this is all big bucks and time consuming.

That upper bracket is welded in place, at least it was on my old 87/donor, when I put my 88 together. I didn't even mess with it. If memory serves me correctly, it's an inch or maybe an inch and a half gap I was lacking. I just put the pedal bracket where it needed to be and marked the holes, then drilled up into what becomes surface under the wiper cowl.
