The difference between the championship year Spurs (I mean 03-05-07, as the '99 team relied very little on the 3) and now is that the Spurs didn't win or lose dependent on their 3-point shooting. We were capable of winning 83-79 slugfests because of our defense. You can't go back and look at the '03 or '07 Finals and tell me we won those because we torched New Jersey and Cleveland from outside. We won because we...

Better team than last season but still the same old Spurs. I think the shooting mentality that's always been a part of the system just naturally turns slashers into shooters as well. RJ seems to be settling for a lot of 3 point shots and less slashing. Hill has an even balance of shooting and driving. Parker has done nothing but drive to the basket but other than that we have a whole lot of shooters. It's strange because most of our...

The problem for me is that George Hill and Tony playing many minutes as 1-2 is going to hurt us size-wise

if the spurs are going to make any type of noise in the Western Conference (I'm sure they will eventually), we have to have a balance of slashing and three point shooting. I know were you are going. As a Spurs fan, it will be exciting to see how it plays out.

I could have sworn that Legler also predicted the Spurs would win the west about 2 months ago. Way to backpedal furiously based on a 12 game sample.

Where have you been bills0?
Williams was waived and never made it past the training camp. Obviously, Pop and his coaching staff preferred Bogans or Hairston over Williams. And Marcus is most likely headed to Europe. SPURS: Spurs Waive Marcus Williams

Then, on the other hand:
* Mason Jr. plays significant minutes at point guard.
* Bonner often starts at center and gets major minutes.
Roger Mason Jr. is NOT a point guard. Tim Duncan is a better point guard than Mason. I like Mason, but not as a frickin' POINT GUARD!!! Just like Bonner is not a starting CENTER! I like him coming off the bench and ...

1. Iverson will only play if he starts
2. Iverson doesn't really get the team ball going. He needs to be the focus of the offense. Something he won't be in SA.
He's a volume shooter. He would not do what is necessary to fit in with the Spurs.

I am starting to get a little worried about Manu.
One of the things we discussed back around the time of his injuries last year was the altered biomechanics involved in significant lower extremity injuries.
Basically, Manu is a finely tuned machine. When he injures one body part, it changes his balance and the forces with jumping, running, and cutting to the other parts of the force ...

Iverson would LOVE san antonio. he'd automatically start... i mean check out his resume qualifications:
he's old.
he now pretty much suX.
he'd hurt the team.
"experience"
height mismatch and fewer rebounds!
spurs starter written all over him

I think his ego took a hit when he was put on the bench instead of starting.
Some players are just like that. He just needs to get over it and fast.
