THE ROAD: A Great Film But Not...
Published (2009-11-28 22:32:00)
My problem was that there weren't any significant deviations that would set the film apart from the book. When I read Fight Club I got bored with it halfway through because I had already seen the movie and I felt that the book and the movie were almost exactly the same (with only a few minor differences). I think The Road is the same kind of film. I'm the kind of person who thinks that deviations can be good when translating a story...

Beauty and the Beast review

My favorite animated Disney film is The Hunchback of Norte Dame. I would say that this is the darkest animated film Disney has done, even more then The Black Cauldron, because of it sexual undertones. I love the music, the characters, and I thought the animation is well done. People say that the talking gargoyles ruin the tone of the film, but I see them as part of Quasimodo's inner psyche, as he battle with himself with what he thinks...

Twilight New Moon, or a barren...

Watching the sequel to Twilight, New Moon, is like looking into a dark, scary vortex. Not because the movie is scary or the director creates a compelling mood or the characters are particularly creepy (at least in the way intended). Heavens, no. It's the vortex of a cinematic nightmare of unintentional hilarity tinged with boredom, a romance movie with no touching romance, a horror movie with no horror, a love story without the love - or,...

You know, it would probably help people who've never seen the movie if you explained why this was a Better than sex film.

I guess everyone better get to reading before they watch the movie, then. In your opinion, do you think it's the case that the novel is so well written that deviations would detract from the story or has there merely been a lack of imagination in the translation of written word to visual medium? Was it a case of leaving well enough alone?

I thought it'd be crap too, but it was the best movie Ive seen all season. The CG blood was part of its charm and you aren't supposed to see the ninja until something ends up dead.

I'm sorry for girls.I heard a friend tell me how every girl likes Twilight and has no taste in film. Why does a gender have to suffer from this cinematic abortion ? I once heard a girl in my class recommending someone Revanche, the norwegian film. They aren't all machines. This doesn't give girls something of their own,it just makes them look stupid.Fuck it
