You're double NAT'ing when you piggyback those 2 routers. Thus, the networks are separated, and you can end up with possible IP conflicts. Not to mention, the old befsr11....very old router, slow throughput, it's a bottleneck for your fiber connection. That router can't muster up 7 megs of throughput..probably more like 4 or 5 megs max. You're not seeing the full speeds of your fiber. Your idea of isolating traffic...

I want to do some more looking on the D-Link site and maybe ask them if they have heard of this problem. Maybe trying another modem and see what happens. I think there is a problem with addresses. Nothing that can't wait until next year. Thanks for the input.

10 mbps Duplex ONLY (help)
Published (2009-12-21 17:55:00)
I have an integrated ethernet port on my MA78LM-S2 mother board (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) with the latest drivers. My problem is it will only allow me to conenct at 10 mbps full/half duplex. When I try to force it to 100 mbps it doesn't even detect that I have the ethernet cable plugged in. It doesn't work on Auto either. When I set it to something other then 10 mbps it doesn't detect the ethernet port anymore then I...

What is your NIC connected too? I haven't seen this in a while but in the early days of the interweb some cable modems wouldn't work unless you manually set your NIC to 10 base-t speeds. If you are plugged into an old hub or something similar I guess that could do it to.

You could buy a printer server that will allow you to show it on th network that you can ace's wired/wireless. There is some routers that do both act as a print server/router. Depending if the Pinter is upgradable or not you could add network card that manufacture of the printer provides. The server may be a cheaper then the card though either way.
