It's hard to answer....but I know I've seen this a few times. Weird. Sometimes it's just something odd in how the memory addresses are handled when copying files...and it will tank. Yet every single other function you do never touches that memory address. Other things to look at...what antivirus are you using? Doublecheck that the NIC driver is updated I remember one time years ago, back in the Win95 or Win98 days...I had a...

The best upgrade I've ever purchased. Takes about 15 seconds from power on to a usable Windows 7 desktop, everything opens instantly. Photoshop CS4 opens in one second. Getting over 25 more minutes of battery life since I installed it as well. Once Intel gets its fixed TRIM firmware out, it may get even better. If you have the money, get one of these drives for an OS/apps drive.

run chkdsk lately? its kind of a stretch and based a lot on coincidence (that OS trying to write over the same bad sectors), or the file size being large enough (i admit 10MB is hardly a large file these days) to occupy some bad sectors. oh, and sorry bout baling out of QL earlier, Cat. after the day i had, my first 20 seconds = 5 deaths popped a blood vessel in my forehead

Haven't seen you in a long time! I'm a huge fan of Antec Sonata series cases....yeah a hair more expensive, but soooo nice and worth it. Nicer quality cases will have features such as rubber grommets for your hard drive mounts...keeps the drives quieter, and less vibration/shock impact to them (healthier for them). On the budget side...Raidmax makes decent ones, actually my case at the ...

For 30x computers, sounds like a real "server" job. That's quite a load for just some desktop system to try to handle, especially if the application you're sharing is heavy. IDE is old, like the floppy drive, ISA cards, 9 pin serial port...shouldn't even be thinking about that. SATA is current for desktops and lightweight servers. SCSI, and the newer SAS...those are current for ...
