Spearo-Fla: As you stated, typically larger fish are in deeper depths and taht is why I recommend a larger gun for deeper spots But winter is a whole new ball game when it comes to shallow water. It is common to see grouper to 30lbs in 15ft of water and muttons ranging to 8lbs or so in the same depth (that hog in my avatar was 22" fork in 7ft of water). They both like to stay around 18-25ft or farther when coming to range (they are...

They will probably extend the AJ ban forever just like Jewfish. Only legal amberjacks I've seen in Miami were on wrecks.

Everyone...this is a great tournament put on by the South Florida Freedivers for a great cause.
If you can't shoot the tournament, try and make the weigh-in as some great fish will be brought in.

It might take you a little while, but eventually you'll get used to not bumping into the bottom before you see it.

Come and support the tournament guys, there will be a bikini contest as well if that's any consolation .
We will be supporting as a sponsor... and will be giving some stuff away during the tournament not to mention one very special piece of wood ....
