November 27, 2009 Game Recap...

Oh did I get lucky or what...the Nebraska/Colorado football game ended before 6 PM (around 5:50) in my area (Chicago) to have this episode air in its entirety! Intro : I was expecting tonight to be the 6th episode of "Halloween Week" but I was surprised that the Christmas decorations on the set showed up. Still, it looks great. Tossups : Apparently, I had the same mistake as both TPH and Jennifer. At least Jennifer got the other two...

November 27, 2009 Game Recap...
Published (2009-11-27 19:13:00)
Other than the second Jackpot win of the season and hearing how Linda Buford's been doing after her appearance in 2006, there's not a whole lot to write home from on this episode. Additionally, this week as a whole wasn't so good. Michael needed at least the D, the F's and the I's in Bonusland. 7 out of 10 also.

TenPoundHammer, the "other" Bobby, here to do our after-Thanksgiving recap. EPISODE #5125 — AMERICA'S GAME The set for tonight is not from "Halloween Week" but "Happy Holidays", decked out in Christmas decorations already. Players Atlanta Carrera: corporate officer for a fire protection company from Wilmington, NC Michael Avant: Director of a nonprofit organization, from Silver Spring, MD Jennifer...

The Christmas set looks really nice. Hopefully there will be some Christmas magic on the actual Christmas week for some big wins! Gotta feel bad for Jennifer in round 4. It looked like they were going to accept her I even though she did say O first but then she was disqualified. I do agree with the ultimate call though. Pretty tough bonus round. I knew the second word was duties, but I couldn't think of official. I thought it was magical...

This episode should be February 1, 1996 is that correct?

I'm not good with the set themes, so I don't know which set was used tonight. Also, mom was talking to me during the interviews, so I didn't get Atlanta's hometown or occupation.
It's been a long time since they've had a Speed-Up that lasted for only one letter, and we get two in a row in the same week. That bonus puzzle wasn't entirely un-gettable, but I just had no idea on that top word...

That was a rather silly bonus puzzle. They only said the answer several times in the episode. (And boy, was that Quotation obscure!)
Or did they? I remember hearing one time that the bonus puzzle was GOOD LUCK and Pat and Charlie intentionally avoided saying "good luck."

Wheel has eliminated cars in the bonus round effective this season. I think they used footage from last year's Pet Lovers week for the promo.

This episode wasn't much better than last night, thanks to all those Bankrupts and a bonus puzzle that should've been gotten with little trouble (I got it with just the RSTLNE).
Score: 6

Bobby M., you want to give this a quick once-over? I kept on getting Michelle and Jen confused for some reason. I think I got them all right, but I might have messed one up.
I wasn't able to get to tossup #1, Mystery Round (SEASIDE was the stumbling block) or R4 before the contestant did, but I had the bonus puzzle off just the RSTLNE (rare to see a pluralized puzzle without an S in it). ...

No, even though they go on the road in February, New York Salute Week is definitely not shooting in New York. They usually don't go on the road for one week unless the weeks are split, and it would mention if this was actually in New York. And they're going back to Vegas for the next two weeks after New York Salute Week anyway.
