When you were having the problem, how much of the problem drive were you using? How much free space? One thing I've noticed is that when the BTV server lays down the recording stream it is always very badly fragmentted. But I know you tried de-fragmenting the drive also and that didn't help. But I wonder what really fixed it after all? Copying the shows off the original drive and then copying them back to that freshly formatted...

As long as it gives the recorded show priority, I'm happy... I'll have to test it out to make sure

Actually, I was picking on the fact that all your posts for the last several months are pretty much the same theme, I even looked at your last few posts (mid October) and same theme, same kind of threads, and I thought it was funny how you disappear and pop up in the same kind of threads, so I poked some fun at it. You see what I did there? Then after the jab I went into my tirade about bash posts, etc etc. BTW, making a post that basically is...

You have three tuners defined. Dsable S-video and Composite. That will fix it.

i have the 1250, but same concept.
I set it up twice, once for analog, once for qam. If qam is recording and an analog kicks of there is no available tuner so it doesnt record.
So far it behaves exactly as it should.

I have a WinTV HVR-950Q with Beyond TV 4.9. It is configured to use the clear QAM tuner for some channels and the cable box on the composite input for others. Clear QAM always works, but the composite video/audio input does not. The first time composite video is selected, it functions correctly. I can switch between cable box channels and there are no problems with ...

I'll be dumping BTV as well once cable card come out. I don't record PPV or League Pass or any of that. I don't burn DVD's of TV, I dont place shift, I don't sync to my ipod. I just want reliable and high quality TV in my house and on my TV's. All that other stuff is just fluff.

I too have used BTV for many years with nearly flawless operations. I'm entertaining the idea of upgrading to Win7 also, so I'd love to hear stories of how it works...or doesn't work. I'm too far out to use OTA, so I'm exclusively on cable.

What tuner(s) do you have installed? I don't believe I've ever seen anything happening like that in the last couple years. Is this a new installation? Or a re-install?
