Another 10 years have come and gone. This time 10 years ago, Napster was well on its way to making history. 10 years later, BitTorrent is the file-sharing mechanism of choice, but it's been a long road since Napster's early days. Looking back at the burgeoning revolution taking place in 1999, can we say there is anything around today with greater or equal aspirations? Why not make a client that has a built in BT tracker and uses something like Gnutilla to publish the torrents. Better yet why not Ares since its pretty much better than gnutilla. This way torrents will forever exist and can be decentrally published and browsed. Just like when winMX was taken off line the tech savy brought it back and now more secure than ever.

Awsome wonder if they except any new users? I know a lot of trackers you have to wait till some members have been deleted to get any access. Hopefully it will even beat BTjunkie. I'll have to compare this with magnet links.

its sad to see thepiratebay and mininova go but again thepiratebay isn't really a loss and I think what they done is smart though cause they are evolving with the new technology, that is a wise strategy. Mininova, I don't think there was anything that could have been done unfortunately. Scenetorrents? I say good riddance, there were the ass of the bittorrent community. Their staff was rude, ...

First post... in ages It's about time the p2p masses moved away from the central-point-of-failure model of Bittorrent trackers and back to immortal URIs/metadata, of which Magnet is an example. But if Magnet URIs are the future, then why have they still not taken off after 7 years? Because they'll always be the future? Here's the Latest News !!1!1 on Bitzi.com , the home of Magnet: ...
