my kids have there own cars that they use, funny thing is that they are faster than my cars as my cars are much older and pretty worn out. but they have pretty good control, that is as long as i don't pass them

Fly for me - mainly because they make the cars I like the most and they look great - yeah, yeah, they do have things that need to be corrected, but they are usually fairly easy to fix. Not recommended for beginners or folks that don't like to solve problems. Da Vol - Bruce

Hi Dug, that Lotus is a nice looking car. I have the Slot it McLaren and all I can tell you is it's crazy-fast...at least compared to the rest of my humble stable of seven other cars. I'd have to agree with ElSecundo though, go with your preference depending upon your goals.

Slot.It cars have a technical quality that I like, so I use certain Slot.It parts in every car I build. But, I don't care for most 1980's Group C race cars, or any other cars that Slot.It makes (except Saubers), as my main interest is cars from the 1960's. So, I buy MRRC/Revell-Monogram cars, and rebuild everything mechanical. They run great after rebuilding. OOB, not so hot. I like SCX for lower-speed RTR's, as they handle...

Scalextric Camaros - 1969 vs. 1970

First let me say the Scalextric round guide and braid plate breaking is a huge problem for the last 4 years all across the Hobby since they introduced it and they seem to be unwilling to address the problem or even recognize it. The B-Nova Guide Adaptor that glues into a Scalextric chassis and allows you to use a Slot-It Universal guide is sold in our shop as well. In fact the gentleman, Robert...

No real favorite though there are those that take more work than others to get to performing well. As many of the older folks here, I like those that I make myself or build up from kits. There are the myriad repaints that I like to do as well on various cars that seems to add to the enjoyment of running a car that few if any also have. About the only cars that I don't run as often as others are SCX. This is because I like to run at 10...

I hear your reservations about racing such a nice Racer. Obviously if you ARE going to race it, there will be some potential scuffs. Maybe you should just leave it as is, race it to death, and then see what it looks like. You can always get new decals and either place them over the existing ones, then clear coat the whole car if that is your ultimate goal. Or you can leave it on the shelf as a raced Racer and put mock 'repair' tape...

very sharp look . and if the slimline motor only revs to 18,000 rpm , i`ve got a bridge i`d like to sell ! they should seriously consider puttin` this motor in lots more of their cars . again , speed to the "nth" degree . on my short track (scaley sport) with ten turns , three of wich are 120 degrees , this is one impressive car . even with the stock rubber slicks . wow . very good handlin` , fast/quick , attractive little...

Ditto on Race Haven. They're just off the 407 at Steeles and Torbram and run weekly races.
Nice store with a 5 lane routed track.

I never had a problem with my Mark IV. I glued and trued right out of the box and it is a great handler but not as fast as the 971s I never touched the pod screws. I dropped it about 2 feet to the floor in the case and all looked ok, until I took it out to run yesterday and the front tab on the pod had broken off. I used Gorilla Super Glue "awsome stuff" to re-attatch it and it ran fine last ...

Hi Johnny,
The Senna/Mansell set is on the way, you have not missed it. I should have 4 of the in the next couple weeks, as soon as they arrive at the distributor.
I was supposed to have the 787B today. Customs is taking their time apparently. Might have it by tomorrow if Our Beloved Canadian Customs Officials do some work today.
Thanks,
Ron

In my opinion, the performance of the 1970 Camaro is exactly the same as the 1969. All major dimensions are the same and the weight is within a gram or so. The biggest difference between the two is that the new car comes with that infernal "disc" guide. I snapped mine in half within the first half hour. Replaced it with a Slot.it guide.

There aren't any "rules" for friendly 2 person races around here. But generally, If you crash, the race is over and you lose the heat. Switch lanes and start over.

Bruce,
You know I'm in. I'll get back to you on the month. Might as well make it after your first race at your place since I'll be closest to you.

Hi Domer, that is a beautiful car! Are you sure you want to race it? If so, future or no future it will get dinged. If I were you, I would put that car right on the shelf and leave it there. No need for future if the shelf is the future of the car. Get a Fly 250 LM or a Monogram and beat it up on the track!

Beautiful work on both cars Greenman. Of course, the 375mm is gorgeous, but that's certainly an eye-catching livery on the Chevron.

Good question
Might be able to get the answer in a thread called "how do you race" gotta go to work now or I'd hunt it up
I just make her go get her own car that's generally frustrating enough that you don't crash very much

In the group I regularly race with, one of the guys and myself have Acura's and one of the other guys has the Scalex Peugeot. Whenever we race LMPs the Peugeot usually stomps all over us! It is a great car judging how well it goes on the plastic tracks we race on (a Ninco 4 laner, two different scalex sport 4 laners, and a classic scalex 4 laner). On my wood 4 lane track it is pretty quick too, ...

Carrera is a ridgid track, not flexible at all ike Scaley but mine right now goes up and down and I have not had any issues with it. But the ghost car function is awesome I have raced with five ghost cars. But I think you could have seven.
