I'd have tipped her the amount I had been planning on anyway on the original amount... which is good etiquette in all situations, IMO. if using a coupon or something, you should still tip on the original amount

i really agree on the putting your cash where it does the most for you and not all debt is evil. some user posted how they had a balance transfer that they have a 0 interest for the life of the debt. paying it off just to be done with it is stupid.
