Wrong spec RAM shouldn't fit into the slot.
The RAM you linked to are DDR. Is her computer that old?
1. Did she try the old rams back alone?
2. What size were the old RAM?
3. Does the chipset have a maximum RAM size limit?
4. There are usually preferred slots for RAM if you are not fully populating the slots. She should make sure they are in the right slots.
Details about the system...

Have to disagree there green. A 40in LCD is light enough to be held up by two lag screws directly into a stud along with 2
drywall anchors. Have done it numerous times and have had no problem with it at all. Ideally, you would want the bracket to be somewhat centered on the stud itself, at least close to centered.

No, from a wattage standpoint. It won't use any more juice than one of a lower wattage with the components you have attached. There is no drawback at all -- depending on what brand it is. power supplies that come with a case are ...

Then start with a standard Windows check of the main hard drive you boot from. Check the boxes that will allow it to check for
bad sectors and repair damage it finds. It's possible the hard drive has some bad sectors.
I can't ...

Quote from Rebound : PS/3's come with different sized hard drives. What can you do with the hard disk? Can you copy music and movies to the hard disk?
Thanks.
Yes you can. Games/downloadable content too. On non-Slim models you can also install other
operating systems.
FWIW - I've probably never used more than 25 GB of my PS3 storage - I may be atypical ...

I would pull the hard drive, then connect it to another PC (as a
external drive) and run a comprehensive anti-virus scan on the external drive.
