What would you expect? Of those families that have stayed in the city, the ones who generally care the most about their children's education end up sending them to charter schools, private schools, and suburban schools.

I've always thought that the old Cass would make an excellant apartment building (complete with workout facilities), however because of it's size and unique design the costs to renovate the building for anything other than a school or office building would be prohibative based on Detroit real estate prices. Agreed. I feel like Ann Arbor has had a struggle lately trying to find an architectural identity. I certainly want this to be an original and inspiring design. I'm just very concerned #2 may get slammed for it's height. Heck, I'd personally say make it higher, but alot of A2 residents don't seem to see it that way.
