Yup even with tv the broadband and phone worked out cheaper than with anyone else so yeah I did take out tv in order to get the broadband. We don't all live in major conurbations down south with large choices of companies to choose from. No o2, be, virgin etc to go to. So having waited and waited and waited and seen the dates put back and put back, last time for a year, I gave up on ever getting O2. Other than that the others are BT...

I cant recall seeing any positive results yet, although I think its currently only being applied to new customers. Us rabble will have to wait until the 1st August if I've interpreted things correctly.

boristhespie, I joined Sky for exactly the same reasons as you, except I'm a footy fan and worked out I'd save money by staying in with a few cans rather than go down the pub and paying £3 a pint during the game. I went for the HD and Max BB and have been very impressed by both. I guess it's a matter of opinion but I reckon the TV side of things is pretty good. We don't watch Sky1 etc. but my 7 year old son loves the kids...

If you don't opt out then Sky will change your service onto their equipment in the BT exchange, no other ISP will be able to use this as it is Sky's only. That means that if you then need to change ISP's you will have to cancel you Sky BB and then wait for your line to be switched back onto the BT equipment which may incur a connetction charge and will incur upto 20 days downtime for the BB and maybe even 5-10 days for the...

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else but you now opt out online using the link mentioned on the webpage, which lists the new networks T&C's ( Sky Broadband- Making your Sky Broadband and Talk services even better ). Look for "let us know". May save talking to CS until they are up to speed on what the new network is

I moved from Virgin to Sky in May (BB activated on 28th May) I signed up to TV, Telephone and BB(mid). Within a month of starting they reduce my BB by 75% and increase the my monthly fee. I shall be cancelling the whole lot and going back to Virgin. Sky has either falsely advertised their deal, mis-sold it to me or in breach of their contract - probably all 3! And I thought Sky was going to be a good move - never again will I be tempted.

Recently we have had some threads started regarding the Sky Electricity Monitors that Sky gave away to some customers as part of an offer available in April. We decided to speak to Sky to see what the chances are of giving some away to our members. Good news! Sky have agreed to give us 10 of these units to give away to 10 of our members, as an experiment, to see if they change their energy...

Following on from the previous thread , Sky have sent us the following information. What changes are we making? Hi SkyUsers... Were aware a company called Sat Link Services has been contacting some of our customers asking for bank details and threatening that Sky will suspend their viewing if details are not given. This is categorically not true and this company is not affiliated with Sky in any way. We pursued a company called Satellite Direct all the way to the High Court over its own ...

Hi ! Does anyone know where I can source the firmware from ? I have a peculiar problem in that the router is not on 192.168.0.1 but on 192.168.x.1 due to an existing VPN IP address clash. With this in mind, how do I get the firmware to be upgraded onto 1.9Sky ? Please help. I am trying to resolve a big problem that may border on REIN as my internet connection drops off on weekday ...

Got my first dish in 1989 (Amstrad SRX 200), been a loyal Sky viewer/customer ever since. I was one of the first to sub to Sky Movies on analogue (which reminds me, never did get my £15 deposit back on my VideoCrypt decoder), one of the first to move to Sky Digital and one of the first to fork out a fortune for a Mk1 Sky+ box. Made the move to Sky+ HD on June 5th (despite the best efforts ...
