Why would an ISP block a port used by Gmail? If he can log into the web interface then the passwords on there are ok, what error does he get on screen when he tries to POP/ IMAP in?

I would advise changing the Incoming and Outgoing servers to pop.googlemail.com and smtp.googlemail.com . respectively. It could be the sky server address is being blocked.

I don't know SKy's rules on this but Eclipse do not allow customers to send e-mails from their POP or webmail from abroad. You can only read them.

not the case with Sky. you should be able to use them. Perhaps the connection he is using has blocked certain ports that the Sky email servers need unblocked.

Hi, This one has me chasing my tail!!, I have a customer thats on hoilday in Florida (he lives out there 6months of the year) Before he went we checked his business POP3 account and his Sky account and everything was fine; he has landed and gone to use his email and cant.. His Business POP3 account is working fine he can send and receive, but his Sky wont connect. Has anyone any ideas? I have him using the web mail side at the moment, but he...

Get him to sign up for a SkyUser smtp account. I have used it successfully everywhere I have tried (except, so far, a friend's house in Surrey!!!), including Florida, South Africa and the Middle East. Regards, Felix

Hi guys
I have used my iPhone to check my e-mail with both Tiscali and Virgin Media and it worked a treat. I could view, create & reply to e-mails on my iPhone and when I got back to my desktop and opened Microsoft Outlook, it would then download them from the server. Perfect!
However, since switching to Sky, once I have downloaded an e-mail from the iPhone, it won't then download it ...

I can retrieve emails through the various account domain POP servers but must set my SMTP server to smtp.tools.sky.com and authentication to my @sky.com address. Has anyone heard of a program called MSGTag or has it?
I have three email addresses two for personal use and one for business. I have had this MSGTag for some years now and use it only for my business emails.
Since changing to Sky I can't get the MSGTag to work does anyone know what the setting should be to get this to work on one of my Skymail accounts?

I am unfamiliar with the SKY e-mail package, but just gave my Mum and Dad an old PC of mine - and as they are on SKY (TV) it seemed easier to get them the SKY phone and broadband package.
Now they are new to the whole intenet and e-mail and to make it easer for them I want to alert them to the arrival of any new e-mails.

This Applies for pop 3 users
we have just been given use of a tool today that enables us to disable the request for repeated password requests when using windows mail/outlook etc. If your having this issue please dont hesitate to give us a call.
