Haha thanks, well I wont afford the DLink model I want till after xmas now cheapest I found is £50 on ebay, is there a better online store for routers? I decided to keep the sky router as main and switch out to dlink when needed (in use).

It's a simple soloution, I tried it once when I was switching routers and got fed up with plugging them each in to see if I had forgotten something. It seemed obvious once I had done it

Quote: If sky detected the new router would they send me a letter? call me? or simply ban me as a ISP customer? I dont want to get in trouble lol Nobody knows as nobody has been pulled up yet. I would imagine if it did happen you would get a letter or email telling you they have detected it and give you X number of days to put it right. Keep a hold of your Sky router if you do decide to change. Don't be like some and sell it, or you...

I guess you are trying to change the RF channel on a TV connected to Sky via the RF... hence your problem. You really need to do the amending on a tv conncected via scart (ie the main tv), then go to the other tv and retune it to the new saved RF channel. 68 or 69 are normally the favourites for the RF.

Chances are that the Amstrad does not have the RF2 power turned on. To do this go into:- services - 4 - 0 - 1 - select, then choose RF Outlets, change RF power to on and remember to save settings. If you have the new EPG then it is:- Services - 0 - 0 - 1 - Select.

Assuming you are putting the router into its recovery mode (with the power and the tick lights flashing alternately), you need to find out what type of router your router thinks it is. It might sound a bit odd, but sometimes when you're playing around with flash images, you can get the router into a state where it thinks a completely different type of router, and the Netgear Recovery Utility ...

My guess is Sky are sending you 'new' cards that expect to find the original Sky box in use. If it was it would pair automatically! However you have a replacement Sky box and the two aren't pairing. Would it be possible to use the original Sky box just to pair the card automatically and after that call Sky to pair the newly auto authorised card with the second Sky box. Or isn't that ...
