imo, if you haven't really come up with songs at this point and a show's barrelling down on you, it may be best to go the covers route for the show and then try to make some songs afterwards. alot of times if you're trying to force creativity for a deadline, it'll be a fairly fruitless and frustrating with the end product not being as good as you want it to be. my band has been in situations like that where a show was in a...

highlighted, and drag them into your itunes library. then you can make a
playlist and burn them to a cd.

I don't play guitar, but I know people who do and when they started out they got a piano music book that has guitar chords written in and they begin to read those.
My cousin did that and she's a pretty good guitar player.
