Croomes, Thanks for the encouragement! Water retention or dehydration can cause fluxuation. Even moving the scale to a different spot of the floor can do the same. Time for a new scale? Nah! I'm too cheap! I don't usually post on this thread since weight gain or loss hasn't been a big problem. But my situation is being shared by others at this time of year, so hopefully my post will be some encouragement to them. Enjoy the...

It work! 12/24/09 - Hains Point, Wash. DC. I was desperate to stop the growing sounds of atrophying muscle ringing in my ears. Did a lonely 22-mile skate. Actually I did have my three imaginary friends who lets just give them fictional names like Jeffery, John and Garvin. Peaceful, calm wind, 38 deg. very surreal & serene. An occasional lone runner and cyclist passed by. On my way home I picked up three lumps of coal. Ha, I would try...

Speaking of ghosts... CM, your post is very timely! I'm going to be moving at the end of next month (which really bites, but that's another story ) and unless I find another gated community, I won't have my private training track (complex perimeter road) to skate on anymore. The thought of having to slosh through all the overwatering they do around here where I skate makes me sick just thinking about it. I can't even...

Bearing Info
Published (2009-12-23 21:02:00)
BOO!!!! More bearing info... I have both the rubber seal and the teflon seal. I like the rubber seal better. The teflons are supposed to be less friction but the seal is flexible and the rubber is not as much which makes it easier for me to service. I have been skating all week in rain and today was no exception. It has been a week of solid rain skates and no bearing maintenance until today. Some were locked up and some could barely turn....

I've always used a waist mounted Camelbak. Having the weight on my upper back seems like it would eventually become a strain. I always use it for anything longer than two hours. Not sure of the size of my current model, though it is definitely smaller than my first one. Do not underestimate the impact of carrying that much fluid initially. As the day wears on it will obviously get lighter ...

My point is simple:
I have some relatives who do very little and look good and others who should look good because of the diet and exercise and they aren't very good-looking.
Great example is one cousin who is 240 pounds but is very fit. He couldn't weigh less than 190 but he is just big and has lots of body fat.
Me I don't put on weight unless I eat too much don't matter if is ...

ATL Training Plan for Noob
Hey folks, I am a noob but I have 2 years of skating 100 to 300 miles a month. I have done 5 or 6 runs of 30 to 40 miles and my longest is 45 miles (6 to 8 weeks ago). I have been down lately with knee surgery ( meniscus tear) but I am back skating with my longest this last weekend of 14 miles.
Anyhow...
