Yes, you can absolutely use a digital signature in a court of law. Under the ESIGN Act of 2000 (you can find the text of the Act here ), an e-signature has the same validity in a court of law as a physical signature does. If you have other questions, let me know. I did played around with dotproject several weeks back and it doesn't offer a signoff feature. As for activecollab, I know it's one of high project management recommendations among in the site forum but it doesn't look like it has a signoff feature and also seem a pricey one (yearly) to purchase at right away as I prefer pay monthly.

We've tried basecamp... didn't quite work for everyone. GoPlan seemed sort of limited/basic. I remember checking out ActiveCollab and there was SOME reason we didn't choose it but unfortunately I can't remember it right now. Am aware of Zoho but forgot about it, will take a look. Anyone suggest any others?

I would recommend working as an independent contractor... First you can deduct some personal expenses as business expenses... Also, you don't really have to incorporate (if you would be the only owner).. You can report the business income and expenses on your Schedule E on your return.. And if you were to incorporate I would recommend an LLC (not an S corp).. It is way more flexible than a corporation..

Google (which owns YouTube) snatches up ANY domain that has "google" in it - They'll undoubtedly do the same with Youtube domains. I wouldn't plan to build your site around it - In all likelihood once they know about it (if they don't already) they'll come after you for it.

Thanks to you both for the advice. @reflash - Im UK based, but i guess that doesnt count for much as our economy is not going to improve any time soon either. Perhaps i should take a leaf out of your book, i have gone back to college to do a degree course in computing part time (bit of paper to back up what i know) perhaps i should see whats available within the college in terms of jobs....

Plenty of websites make users "signature" legal agreements by just typing their full legal name into a text field and then timestamping and logging their IP address upon submission. Of course faxing is a step up in formality as is getting the client to scan the signed agreement and send it in.
