Has there ever been an artist that you could not stand for whatever reason, and then you suddenly started liking them? I had that happen with Lee Ann Womack. I don't even know why I didn't like her, but I absolutely could not stand her. I felt like I was the only person who hated "I Hope You Dance." I just thought it was awful. Whenever I heard a song of hers on the radio or a video of ...

This is a really easy thread to take part in. Every time you come here to the music board, just post the CDs you've listened to since you were last here. The last three CDs I listened to were: Help!- the Beatles Memory Almost Full- Paul McCartney This Is Where I Came In- the Bee Gees

And now we turn to. . . 2000! The grunge revolt of the nineties had changed the pop landscape for good. In 1990, Billy Joel, Phil Collins, Paula Abdul, Tommy Page, and pop rappers like M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice were going strong. By 2000, Billy Joel had retired to compose classical music, Phil Collins had been forgotten, Paula Abdul was a hasbeen, Tommy Page was the answer to ...

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst has confirmed the rock band is reuniting, two and a half years after they split. The rockers went their separate ways in 2006, following the failure of 2005 comeback album The Unquestionable Truth. Band members have since worked on solo projects, with Wes Borland joining Marilyn Manson's band and Durst trying his hand as a Hollywood director. Rumors of a ...

This week marks the release of Break Up The Concrete, the first new album by Chrissie Hynde and her backup band ( lets face it, that's what they are these days and have been since the early 90's, lol) in six years. I am not much on Chrissie as a person as she seems very smug and is one of the scariest animal rights activists I've ever heard of (she got arrested for threatening to firebomb ...

I ask this because Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge, two artists I usually buy a new album from sight unseen, are coming out with Christmas albums this season and I couldn't possibly be less interested even though usually a new Sheryl or Melissa album is exciting. I like hearing Christmas songs in December, but with very very few exceptions (like John Lennon's Happy Christmas, Mariah's All ...

Link NEW YORK - A representative for Janet Jackson says the singer has been hospitalized after falling ill shortly before a concert. I know these artists live lavish lifestyles, but sometimes I think there's a difference between living well and gouging the fans. With album sales in decline, I'm aware that artists make more from touring than recording these days, and with inflation, the days of seeing your favorite band who is #1 on the chart for $9.50 is over (man, how I wished I was older and had the chance to go to ...
