I have for the last 10 years or so really tried to focus on living a simple life especially when it comes to my wardrobe, household "stuff" and other materialistic items. I always thought I took this to the most extreme level I could comfortably, but because of my family's financial situation at the moment, I am having to rethink things I never even thought of as extravagant. Has anyone here stopped wearing them altogether in an attempt to save money? My vision is so bad that I don't like to drive with my glasses, so I haven't stopped wearing them, but I do buy them from the least expensive source possible.

I'm coming to realize lately that absolute silence is really hard on me. When I'm in the car, I'm usually on the phone, and if I hang up, my phone is reaching for the radio as I'm hanging up. At home I'm usually listening to or watching something. I'd love to spend a few minutes each day in absolute silent solitude, it's just hard for me it seems. ...

I do! I have had both of your problems, and managed to conquer them both. About my cell phone, I too was always forgetting to take it out of my purse at night, then when I needed it, it wasn't always charged. I just had to make it a habit to plug it in when I get home.
