think about what children aged 11-16 need..................chill out area, activities suitable for their age, we have xbox 360, dvd's, lego, construction, books, games such as chess, twister, mouse trap, craft activities, den building, music etc, table tennis, snooker, table football etc hope this helps a little bit

hi, im supervisor of an afterschool club, we do full home made cooked teas, my understanding is the ratio is the same as early years, 1 member of staff for every 8 children under the age of 8, so any children older than 8 are not included in the ratio on site but will be on the journey from school....hope this helps.

If you are already observing the children's likes, dislikes, interests etc then it is a very small step forward to think about how you can enhance their enjoyment and play by providing resources and play opportunities to build on what they are doing now and move them forwards.
You probably do it already without realising...
You see a child really interested in role play and remember ...

We've been told we don't need to cover it in the same depth as school just compliment it, otherwise we are repeating what they are doing.
We plan daily which toys are coming out with the help of the children. We then have 1 focused activity going on all week.
On the back of the planning sheet we have boxes for obs of the children.

hi, im doing the transitional modules as i have a an nvq3 in childcare and
education, i go to college once a week, i think for 15-20 weeks, 3 hours
homework every week, with 2 assignments to do to pass and get a cahe evel 3
in playwork

Hiya, the recent child abuse case where a then nursery staff member used a mobile phone to take, store and distribute images has highlighted how at risk personal/work phones & cameras can be in regards to all safeguarding procedures.
Interested to hear others policy & procedure for mobile phones and cameras.

hi im doing my transitional modules and i was told at the start it would
take 15-20 weeks term time, but been doing it for 3 lessons and been told
it should be quicker than that now
