Hi, First of all, thanks for all the advice concerning the differences between trap and sporting guns from my previous post. Now I have a new question! I was out shooting today and I was using my top barrel with a full choke. In fact, I have been using the upper barrel for the past few sessions. I wanted to try out the bottom barrel (IM Choke) so I did and I dropped 2 points (18/...

FOLKS , What is the difference between an 1100 & Trap model. I know the stock is different -but what else ? Is the rib higher /lower- trigger pull different ? Are the internal parts the same ? I'm a little confused -please help a new/old guy. Thank you in advance for your time & help. SOUP

I was watching both the mens and womens finals on the Olympics and I noticed something interesting. In almost every single case, minus maybe two people (in both the mens and the womens combined) they all blew the smoke out of their barrels...why would they do that? I mean, aside from just habit or something similar, there does not seem to be any point. Any benefit from the smoke being ...

So, who's going to the Grand? Perhaps we could get up a little contest for the SGW member posting the highest score in he Grand American Handicap? _________________ "The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding." - Justice Louis D. I am a over/under newby. I have been shooting trap with a Win Super X2 for a few years. I just got a fairly good deal on a Browning Citori. Supposedly a "Trap" model with 32" barrels. Built in 1980 ( Model 2?). The under barrel is extra full (marked "*-") and the over barrel is full (marked "*") from the factory. I shot a round of trap through the under, extra full barrel. I ...

First let me say a big congratulations to Mr Walton Eller on his outstanding win in the Olympic Double Trap, and with a new world record score as icing on the cake. I was intrigued to see an article in our local newspaper where former Gold medalist and former world record holder Russell Mark drew attention to a controversy over the Chinese officials scoring of their own competitor. I ...

Some of us are real OCD candidates and others are "fly by the seat of our pants" statisticians. I've noticed that a lot of people talk about this or that worked better, but do they really know? So, are you like me and take the time to actually record all your scores? _________________ Remember, you can post here because they died over there.

After staying up 3 nights to watch the American's shoot in the Olympics (I'm exhausted and thankful we get a break for skeet), I think after this shooting season is over, I'm switching over to International Trap (Olympic/Bunker) Shooting. I'm already hooked on the sport and I think I would like to refine my skill at it without the worry of messing my American Trap game. I've actually ...

I will first ask for your discretion in not mentioning this post to any of my Skeet shootin' buddies. Second, I'd ask that you not tar and feather me for invading your turf! We let Rastoff come over every once and a while..... (ooooo, Rast, hope that wasn't a secret). I watched the Olympic coverage of the Doubles Trap the other night, and was facinated by the ribs those shooters...

NSSF Passes Torch of Popular Youth Program to New Foundation In terms of sheer numbers of participants, the eight-year-old Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) has been the most successful youth-oriented program in National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) history. Nearly 30,000 youths have participated in the program, which includes trap, skeet and sporting ...

Watched the men's finals today , and each was allowed only one shot [with o/u guns] . What game is this ? I thought that Olympic singles allowed a second shot if the first missed. Also, all the birds I saw were rising well above the bunker, yet each shooter used a low rib gun, and appeared to be crawling the stocks excessively vs. a more upright head in American trap.

Thinking about buying a dedicated trap gun. I live out in the middle of nowhere so trying out trap guns is not an option. I shot best with my 390 (B/S with 28" bbl) so I've decided to look for a good used 391 Urika 1 trap or PT. My question is 30 or 32 in barrels? Which one is the "standard", which one do most people shoot? I know I can tell the difference between a 26" and 28" so my fear is ...

Are there any trap shooters out there with any comments on why Berettas are face slapping, frustrating guns to shoot... After spending $3000 on the gun and shooting many rounds through, I just can't seem to get used to the feel of this gun..I have added recoil reducers in both the stock and top barrel but it still does not feel like the gun for me..... I borrowed a XT Trap today ...
