I have 2 field bred cockers. I feel they are the best family/hunting that there is. They are very loyal, great with kids and will hunt their hearts out for you. She's looking to you as a parent like any 2yr old would. I say lay-off the training until she's mature enough (~6 months old). Any training now should be done to make associations only, like blowing a whistle means she's getting fed. Actual commands w/o anything to associate it with is only going to confuse her. Don't worry, when she gets older she will become bolder.

My English Setter stays in the room with me. If a motel does not allow pets, I don't stay there.
