One of the recent target presentations at Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays was an edge on battue. Would you use #9 shot for pattern density because it's a small target at this angle? Or would you use #7.5 shot for extra energy because battues are hard to break at this angle?

What is the penalty, if any, for unsportsmanlike conduct in FITASC? Does the ref give a warning and then "0's" or is the shooter DQ'ed? Both? If a shooter is DQ'ed for unsportsmanlike conduct in a registered FITASC event....does this go on his permanent record? Is there a period of suspension from shooting registered events? Henry, do you know? What about Ben?

I have been having a problem shooting under the birds, crossers and chondelles. Not sure what I am doing. How can this be fixed? My method is move-mount-shoot with a 391 flat-shooting gun, right handed shooter. Anyone else experienced problem shooting under? Can this be a technique issue or more of a gun fit issue? Some expert advice needed and how it can be fixed in either technique or gun-fit....

Fw: Craig Buchanan ================================================== ================= Hello to everyone: Unfortunately, I'm sending this e-mail to let you know that the next scheduled shoot, October 19th, at High Desert has been cancelled. I have to assume at this point that the course and machines are still not in shape for a tournament crowd because I asked High Desert...

So I've been shooting skeet fairly regularly (every other week or so) for about 4 months now. I got my avg up around 20-21 recently and been itching to try clays and finally got up the nerve. I only did 50 instead of the full 100 and the trapper told me it was a very difficult setup. One guy who joined on who I know is a very very good shooter broke 73 out of 100 and the trapper was ...

Okay, we all know you should always keep your eyes on the bird. Let's assume it's a left to right crosser that requires a six foot lead. At the very instant you pull the trigger... A. eyes still on the bird and gun pointing to the right, gun present only in your peripheral vision sort of sideways, or... B. eyes shift to where you want to place the shot six feet in front of the bird ...

Doesn't matter if its left to right or right to left, I bomb on close crossers almost every time. I can nail those at mid-range and far away without trouble but close-in kills me. I tend to shoot way in front of it or, for some reason, over it. Anyone got a cure for this??

I've been shooting 1 oz 1185 fps shells, either STS or AA, for sporting clays. I like their reduced recoil over the 1 1/8 oz shells. I've looked at the Remington 7/8 oz 1100 fps shells, RLSTS1285. The recoil aspects are probably excellent, but the speed is really low. Anyone had experience with these shells? Are there any 7/8 oz shells with velocity close to ...

I noticed when shooting a couple times last week, I tried "stabbing" at a target twice. I did this a couple times while shooting other times as well. I recently switched from 28" to 30" barrels on an O/U. I see from past discussions on barrel length, some suggested going to a longer barrel length helped people to not "stab" at a target, reason being due to the longer sight plane made a person ...

I am presently shooting a 20 ga. for skeet. Am I at a disadvantage in shooting sporting clays because of less powder and fewer shot? Could any one suggest a "handicap" for shooting 20 ga. or is it not really an issue. thanks for the comments!

OK guys/gals WHO'S going If so would you like to have a ShotgunWorld face to face on Saturday evening? Did the economy factor into your decision to go or stay at home? I am going to drive over on Friday ...

Well today was the 2nd time ever, and the 1st time in 15yrs I shot sporting clays and I'm hooked I mean HOOKED haha, I had a blast today, everyone in this sport makes it easy to have fun and enjoy it, I didn't see anyone that hesitated to say hello, it reminded me of my days of racing Motorcycles. I did shoot a 54 today, and was happy with that, now I got something to shoot for next time I go....

DAMN IT I just left the ortho's office and I was told NO MORE CROCS I have been fighting a problem with my right foot for over a year now and this foot specialist is putting me in orthodicts and New Balance shoes. They are hoping this well help, if not I have to undergo some crazy kind of joint fusion that requires a 4 to 6 month recovery. Hell I may not live that long...

Buying bulk ammo - 8 new posts

So I'm adding up the majors I plan to shoot next year and I need to get some factory ammo. Where is a good place to get 25 flats of decent 12 gauge and 3 of each sub-gauge? I have Kemen's price list, but I have to think I could do better than $60 a flat. Any ideas?
